Poland-Belgium has gone to extra-time in Gdansk, so Ireland may not know their playoff final opponents by kick-off here.

Kazak players spent yesterday sightseeing and shopping in Cork and now a few of them were just taking selfies of themselves on the pitch here.

Superb performance from Ireland u-21s, beating a star-studded England team 3-1. Tommy Lonergan will get headlines with his brace, Grehan outstanding at the back but Finneran & Devaney's displays in midfield particularly encouraging. Pity such a huge result wasn't on telly.

As the Israel team travels to Europe where they will play against Austria, Ireland and Kosovo between 24 September - 6 October, Palestinian families are being displaced and dispossessed, their land stolen, their olive trees uprooted, and their histories erased by settlers with the support of the Israeli military. The beautiful game should bring people together, not rubber-stamp apartheid. It’s unconscionable that the Israel men’s football team will participate in the UEFA Nations League this autumn despite clear evidence that Israel’s football association continues to support illegal settlements. Sport should never be used as a public relations spectacle for states committing atrocities. When rules are broken, when occupation, apartheid and genocide are ongoing, we cannot look the other way.

We have contributed to the world and humanity in countless fields, earning an impressive number of Nobel Prizes along the way. Unfortunately, we have not yet found a cure for stupidity, ignorance and hypocrisy displayed by @IrelandFootball team coach. We’re not playing with ignorance, hypocrisy and stupidity, We’re playing against the coach who embodies them.

Remember when relegation in the Nations League was held up as a reason to play Israel? Well finishing bottom in League B no longer means automatic relegation. It's a play-off instead. – at Dublin City, Ireland
