BREAKING: Government says that there is no final agency action on East Potomac. New allegation that any redesign of the golf course is not “agency action to begin with”

Kennedy Center shutdown. Reflecting Pool destroyed and closed. Smithsonian ruined. East Wing demolished. Self-aggrandizing triumphal arch underway. Now this course will be shut down. All illegal. All for one asshole's personal whims, vanity and revenge.
Trump announces plans for the redeveloped East Potomac Park golf course.

You have got to be f**king kidding me… an 18 hole golf course that fully absorbs the entirety of Hains Point. Disgusting and shameful acts by Department of Interior. We have been saying this for MONTHS.

Periodic reminder that the death penalty: -Is not statistically a deterrent to murder. -Costs the system far more than life imprisonment. -Is unevenly applied and highly dependent on the competence of your lawyer. -And also leads to nightmarishly draconian scenes like the below.

It's just so incredibly obvious to me that we need to shift the safety net away from pensioners and toward children, young families, and young adults who are on their journey to starting families.

They also have the least poverty, the least personal debt, the least expenses, the highest financial satisfaction, and highest share of millionaires. Yet they receive 10x as much federal spending (per capita) as those ages 25 and younger. That seems sub-optimal.
Baby Boomers hold more wealth in the United States than all other generations combined.

The most damaging Trump campaign ad for Harris, according to both camps, featured clips of her saying, “Bidenomics is working.” I have yet to see a Dem ad showing Trump talking about how great the economy is or how gas prices aren’t that high. I don’t get it
Ryan Wagner, a conservative in Michigan, has had a slow-motion realization that Trump is lying to Americans When he hears Trump talk about how much food prices have gone down, “my freaking eye is twitching.” “I can’t even listen to him talk anymore" nytimes.com/2026/09/22/us/po…

This image was a wake up call for a lot of delusional "red-pilled" minorities. You can be born in America, never break a law, work hard, study hard, contribute, assimilate culturally and there's still a big chunk of people who will hate you because you're the wrong skin colour.
I heard UT graduation this year looked like this. I didn’t believe it. The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined.

when they eventually make a movie about this time, please don't put the male politicians in good suits. imo, the ugly, low rent tailoring should be central to the story

It should be clear to everyone what this traffic circle really needs: a Wendy’s
We are pleased to announce that after a very long wait (over 125 years!), we are preparing to start, over the next two-week period, the excavation work necessary for the Great Triumphal Arch and Military Observation Deck, at Memorial Circle on Columbia Island between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. This will be one of the Great Pieces of American Architecture, honoring the history and significance of Arlington Cemetery and befitting the most powerful Capital in the World.

Last year, Milo blithely asked his followers whether he could masturbate publicly while witnessing an ICE raid. After being arrested and deported by ICE, he is now recounting the horrifying, degrading experience, and explaining how he had to weep for an hour to get it out of his system. It really is remarkable how much of politics is personal — how no amount of data, videos, opinion writing, etc. can come close to moving someone as much as just experiencing The Thing themselves.
Milo Yiannopoulos: "I didn't really understand the physical reality of how institutionalized the brutality is in America. The manner in which they arrest you, they put you in manacles, everybody is arrested like an MS 13 gang member. It was physically degrading. It was frightening. I don't think I've ever been frightened like that before. I was weeping like an old woman for an hour. I wouldn't wish it on anyone."

The East Potomac Park case is fundamentally an argument of if we the people own our public lands or if the temporary inhabitant of the White House does. Congress passed a law in 1897 decreeing that the park would forever be “for the recreation and pleasure of the people.”

All of this Admin’s pushes in the district have unambiguously made it worse for residents. Kennedy center: absurdly stupid. East Wing / Lafayette park: disappointing and infuriating. National guard: *sigh*. Reflecting pool: total failure. The list goes on. But we think the East Potomac case is different - thousands of people use this place weekly. While the destruction of the East Wing is a culturally significant loss, it impacts the average person very minimally. Getting rid of East Potomac park will change the lives of thousands of DMV residents who love the public recreation this place affords. It’s why we see so much pushback - because the people who actually use this place know (1) what is going to happen and (2) that their lives are going to change. This is not to say that all the other pushes in the District are not reckless and borderline criminal. It’s just to call out the unique situation that this case represents. Please. @DonBeyerVA @RepRaskin @EleanorNorton. @glenniveymd Don’t let this admin do this.

This note in the final book from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library wrecked me last year when my daughter turned 5. Tearing up again reading it now.
