Developer-focused long version: As builders in the Wawa community, we’ve been closely studying the evolution of the X402 protocol — a new payment and access layer redefining how APIs, services, and smart contracts exchange value on-chain. Unlike traditional API models, X402 leverages the HTTP 402 “Payment Required” standard to enable native crypto payments directly between clients and services — no intermediaries, no custodial gateways. This design allows a new class of autonomous agents, dApps, and on-chain APIs to interact with instant, permissionless microtransactions — opening the door for true “pay-per-use” Web3 infrastructure. Our latest article explores how X402 works, its potential applications within the Xlayer ecosystem, and why it could become a key building block for machine-to-machine economies and decentralized access control. @XLayerOfficial @star_okx @okx @wallet @okxchinese — we’re excited to see this protocol evolve and to contribute to its adoption within the wider Web3 developer community. notion.so/OKX-Wallet-x402-AP…
