On my way to NYC to participate in this exciting symposium. Should be a great session on decision making.
COMING UP FAST! On Monday, September 22nd, Dr. Peter Rudebeck @RudebeckLab & The Lipschultz Center for Cognitive Neuroscience are excited to host this symposium showcasing cutting-edge research being conducted across NYC & the surrounding area. Learn More👉friedmanbrain.icahn.mssm.edu…

Spent last week licking wounds. Now it's time to get to work.
Some thoughts on the path forward. In short, we need to rebuild the left. No band aids.
Admit that our policies don't connect with people emotionally. Stop being so afraid of populist fights. Build a bigger tent.

Half of Donald Trump's former cabinet members have refused to endorse him. The most senior Republican senator calls him “despicable”. Both his former chief-of-staff and former head of the joint chiefs call him a fascist. We are endorsing Kamala Harris econ.st/4ef9Abf 👇

Cool write up about our recent work in @_TheTransmitter. Simultaneous recordings across the brain is the future of systems neuro.
Multiple brain areas synchronize their activity to help a rodent accumulate the evidence it needs to make a choice, two new studies suggest.

So cool to see our recent preprint covered in The Transmitter alongside work from the Mrsic-Flogel lab!

I haven’t posted about the events in Gaza, Israel, Lebanon, etc in a while, not because they cease to horrify me — quite the opposite. It is exhausting to process the scale of the violence.
Of course this exhaustion is nothing compared to the suffering of civilian populations being mercilessly targeted by the Israeli government with weapons paid for by my taxes.
Very special to have John Hopfield in the building this morning to be celebrated for his Nobel-worthy role in the establishment of computational neuroscience and machine learning. @brody_lab @PrincetonNeuro @NobelPrize
If you're at SfN on Monday, come hear @julie_charlton_ and @thomaszluo talk about the latest results from our team-based project dedicated to cross-brain recordings during decision making. Should be a good nano!
Replying to @julie_charlton_
@julie_charlton_ and I will be presenting at #sfn2024 on Mon, Oct 7, about cross-brain correlates of covert decision commitment, in the nanosymposium on “Neural Representation of Value and Choice During Decision Making.” Looking forward to the nano!

A historic milestone for neuroscience! It's been a fantastic journey for the #FlyWire Consortium. This special edition of Nature showcases the power of open science, with nine papers that not only describe the fly connectome, but also make discoveries using it.
Big news! The fly connectome is featured on the cover of a special edition of Nature.
This is all possible thanks to the collaboration of 292 members of The FlyWire Consortium!
