1st grade @NBPSEagles students are learning about plants and their parts. Today we spent some time practicing observation and scientific illustration. Students were challenged to “draw what you see” and refrain from adding details that weren’t there.

You can see in the second photo a student had to color over the radish they had drawn in the soil—they couldn’t actually see it. So instead they focused on drawing what they could see above the soil

The Trick or Treat Robotics challenge proved to be a bit of a trick for students, but the costume contest was a treat! 🥇Marisa’s butterfly 🥈Laelen’s grim reaper

We've got two weeks left in the trimester. Robotics students are working on pitch decks to share their ideas for our final challenge. They are buzzing with excitement--totally focused and engaged 🥹

seeking recommendations for a pumpkin patch that’s real sincere
seeking suggestions for a mobile @firstlegoleague table or mobile support for an already-made table. love the look of the @zioxiuk LEGO FLL table, but there are no USA resellers. Anyone have a suggestion for a table/support you use and like? DIYs welcome! #FLL @southFLrobotics

we have one wall-mounted table and two tables on expandable sawhorses, but...
Anyone have a guess for the large object in pictures 1 and 2?
After an exploration of electrical relationships using @PhETsims Virtual DC Lab, students started to take apart old stuff. They made predictions about what they might find inside before they broke out the tools. To be continued!

After a forecast of thunderstorms, we got lucky and had a successful MATE competition (despite 3 rain delays). Our own @DylanFetterman from @iFlowBionic took home the #gROVer award! @NBPSEagles @matecenter #watergame

Hey Hivemind, are there any official safety certification courses you use or recommend for your makerspace teachers or staff? I'd like to get some formal training, also Korea has some new laws and we want to make sure everyone knows their stuff. #makerspace #design #Wood

Hello hivemind, What are some fun design & engineering projects you've done virtual/online? I'd like to give my kids something new and fun. My man @ChopSciDesign is asking his 6th graders to build epic blanket forts. That's hard to beat. I will steal that. #design #STEMEd
