i’m doing the millennial hobby arc, minus the marathon.
writing like a person again.
no reviewer 2 in sight.

Excited to release our first @deleon_bio blog post (link in thread)!
Over the past year, Deleon Bio has reinvented how omics can be done (...daily-omics...daily-on...deleon...).
We decided to stop keeping it to ourselves.
Our advancements in low-cost sampling have allowed, for the first time, a scalable platform at a time resolution that will actually matter to people, every single day.
Thousands of daily samples from volunteers gave us the backbone we needed to benchmark our capabilities.
All our breakthroughs these past 12 months have come from hardcore science, engineering, and AI research.
Helping consumers is still a step along that path, and the thing that makes all this worth it in the end. But we have to get there faster. That's why we’re doubling down on data collection and scaling our models up!
Over the next couple weeks we will be releasing more posts about our progress on AI models and our benchmarks.
maybe i’m not alone, but last week was ROUGH.
i walked in new places to think straight.
bonus: made a furry friend.
go on the walk.
horoscopes work because they're vague enough to feel personal.
ai works the same way.
just faster, and it's learned to write like you too.

funny how we can clock AI writing when it uses
"it's not X. it's Y.”
have we forgotten that’s the classic rom-com breakup line?
"it's not you. it's me."
humans started it. ai just picked it up.

We redesigned the Motif website.
Less explaining. More showing.
See how Motif turns months of biomarker research into minutes: motif.bio/
people think ai will replace scientists.
it won’t.
it will replace the parts of science
that feel like paperwork.
but it can't replace curiosity.
curiosity is still human.
a molecule can be brilliant.
and still fail.
not safe enough.
not scalable enough.
not differentiated enough.
success is multiplicative.
failure is binary.
move to sf or nyc if you want.
just don’t pretend that’s what makes you a founder.
the builders worth watching are too deep in the work to care where it happens.
the skyline isn’t the asset.
you are.
no one cares.
beautiful, right?
frees you to build the thing you actually want.
do the thing that feels slightly impossible.
then you drop something they can’t ignore.
time and time again, i hear investors say phds make bad founders.
but phds aren’t risky. they’re pre-vetted by a system designed to break them.
if they’re still standing, you should probably give them money.
i used to think getting a phd was about knowledge.
it was actually about endurance.
turns out that’s the same skill you need to build a startup.
go-to-publish gets you citations.
go-to-market changes the world.
one feeds your career.
the other feeds humanity.
at some point, you have to decide which impact you’re optimizing for.
