A vote for Abdul El-Sayed is a vote to break the Rogers corruption cycle
UPDATE: @DropSiteNews has received a letter from attorneys representing Mike and Kristi Rogers, demanding a retraction of the below article and threatening litigation.
We have updated it to include comment from their counsel. We stand by our reporting and will defend it if necessary.

The insistence of cable news to focus so intently on Hasan Piker yet never interview him or ask him for comment is a fascinating rejection of a century of journalistic norms.
I’ve never seen a person be covered so relentlessly—including even Osama bin Laden—without any effort to interview him.
Declining to take that basic journalistic step effectively means folks like @DanaBashCNN & @jaketapper are forfeiting their claim to even be doing journalism.
They don’t even do the standard throwaway line at the end saying, “We reached out to Mr Piker for comment and he said…”
Genuinely bizarre from two people who for a long time prided themselves on being professional journalists.
A top 5 reason to implement a wealth tax is related to this point below about China eating our lunch. If our super rich class was leading the world when it came to frontier industries, that would be a strong case to let them keep cooking.
Instead, their focus the past 15-20 years has been on building monopolies and moats, propping it up with ever-more-absurd financial engineering, media consolidation with the aim of stoking culture war and blunting criticism of Israel, which for some odd reason is supposed to be a national priority for us — all while falling behind China on robotics, batteries, EVs, and so on. We’re barely winning on AI if at all. They cheered as Trump effectively repealed the IRA, the biggest investment in new energy production in decades, and are now crying that there isn’t enough energy production for their AI.
If our billionaires were winners, we might consider defending them.
But our billionaires are losers, in several senses of the word, and they embarrass us on the international stage. A wealth tax will take them down a few pegs and hopefully let some winners rise up. We no longer have a meritocracy so it’s time to strip the participation medals from these monopolists.
So no, a wealth tax is not punishing you for your success. It’s punishing you for failure. Don’t like it? Stop losing.

Some on the left have criticized Sen. Bernie Sanders for focusing his criticism of Israel only on Benjamin Netanyahu. I asked him about that criticism and whether he agrees that Israeli opposition leaders are as genocidal as Bibi.

Whatever criticism you have of progressive primary spending, at least we’re not turning around and spending $10 million to elect Republicans after the primary is over. But apparently that’s not enough to get establishment Democrats to say a word against AIPAC. Pathetic.
NEWS —
AIPAC is considering a major campaign, expected to be in the tens of millions, to boost Mike Rogers over Abdul El-Sayed, sources tell me and @jennymedina.
AIPAC has told allies of the plan.
We could just be getting started in Michigan.

Glad to see renewed attention on open-weight models. We made this case at the @FTC in 2024: open weights let startups and businesses build and innovate without depending on the whims of a few gatekeepers.
More openness in model offerings is a good start, but parts of the AI stack remain concentrated. That's why we also need robust competition where possible and clear rules banning conflicts and market power abuse for layers like chips, cloud infrastructure, and the platforms through which models are distributed.
A coalition of technology companies led by Nvidia and Microsoft called on policymakers to promote the development of open-weight artificial intelligence models, positioning it as key to ensuring the US maintains technological leadership. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
The left sleeping on this action, which is very similar to the ban on Chinese cars, is a mistake. This industry is highly monopolistic and needs healthy competition. It’s literally a tool designed to oppress the working class and we need to fight back to democratize it.

Four Supreme Court justices have argued that Donald Trump can change the Constitution with an executive action, BUT JOE BIDEN CAN’T FORGIVE YOUR STUDENT LOAN DEBT.
It’s rigged. Burn it all down.

Not a single Democrat or self-proclaimed moderate should vote to confirm anybody to the Supreme Court over the next two years. And if you have a problem with that, blame Mitch McConnell.

The problem with Jeff Bezos' ideology is that it's based on a false premise. The idea that "six thousand years ago someone invented the plow" is based on a faulty belief that ancient humans functioned as individuals. They did not.
Ancient humans were collectivist. The likelihood that one individual invented anything is slim to none.
This is the myth of the genius.
Archeological evidence demonstrates that for hundreds of thousands of years, early humans congregated around communal gathering places, like the fire, and engaged in problem solving and passing on of shared learning down through generations.
Additionally, the plow (and tools like it) were developed by humans in Mesopotamia, Europe, Egypt, East Asia, sub-Saharan Africa as well as other places - not in one place by one person. This is known as parallel development.
Believing that the plow was invented by one genius is like believing language was invented by one person. It is a silly myth and represents the projection of current moral standards onto past events.
This is called 'presentism' and it is both an uncritical and ignorant way to view history.
Social learning was the main driver of human evolution. Collectivism is how we both survived and progressed as a species.
The myth of the genius is an example of uncritical analysis and a flawed lens used to justify the grotesque hoarding of wealth and obscene inequality that is currently tearing at the social fabric our species.
It needs to be thrown on the trash heap of history.
