We're excited to be getting this project off the ground with thanks to @Derbyshirecc. The more schools, businesses, organisations, community groups & individuals we can involve from the off, the more chance we have of creating something really special in, by and for #Heanor.

Why the long face? 🐴 Did you know bumblebees can have either a short or long face? Face length can be used to help identify different species. This Garden bumblebee has a distinctly long face 🐝

Insect numbers are crashing. Alongside supporting large-scale rewilding, please take steps to help in your garden & community by not being too tidy, planting nectar-rich flowers & trees, and not using weedkillers and pesticides. More: bit.ly/2FCEJYz

A great way to connect with nature is by taking the time to appreciate its beauty. Why not create a celebratory wild mandala for day 11 of #12DaysWild? Make sure to take a picture! 📷🍂

📣 Let's talk about columnists ✍🏼 We would love to develop a group of people from the local community who could write regular columns for us - but we want to know who you would be interested to hear from.

A winter image taken from a drone high above Bennerley Viaduct. The sky is vivid blue with wispy clouds, the fields and trees are brown. The viaduct crosses diagonally from bottom left towards middle right, a straight line in the landscape, with the lattice piers visible beneath. In the distance you can just make out the buildings of Ilkeston.
