A fun thread about how a hospital doesn’t trust women: I had to go to the ER yesterday (I’m ok now). I was asked to sign a waiver saying I wasn’t pregnant so I could get a CT scan + MRI asap. I signed, wrote the date of my last period, last time I had sex, etc.

I requested they go over this protocol with nursing staff so that all of this is clear to them as well as to all patients it affects. They agreed that it would be good to review it with staff.

I get why they feel the need to do this test, but it all still feels like a loss of bodily autonomy and yet another instance where our voices and our responses don’t matter. It sucks.
