@GlobalYouthRev is finally open for submissions for Issue 02, which is set to be published in December! The due date for submissions is FEBRUARY 20TH. Poetry, prose, nonfiction, and visual media submissions are accepted.

tonight's emotional chinese: 不客气
pronounced bùkèqi this means "you're welcome." literally, "no guest energy," as in "don't act like a guest; no need to speak so politely (by thanking)." a variation on this is 不用客气, bùyòngkèqi, basically "no need to stand on ceremony"

small lit mags are not trying to swindle you lol and if you think they should be "upfront" about it then maybe read their guidelines first? realize that a lot of them don't bc the staffs are made of volunteers/unpaid editors? just submit to a bigger/paying pub if that bothers you

Amanda Gorman did a *superb* job. What a poet and performer. And what a GIFT for our students to see someone their approximate age reading at an inauguration. I wish I could thank her for that alone. I hope every one of our students sees this and knows what they are capable of.
