#InfiniteIndia | Social media is a double-edged sword for young people. Excessive scrolling, online comparisons and the constant need for likes and followers can fuel stress, loneliness and anxiety, while making self-worth increasingly dependent on digital validation. #InfiniteIndia | Depression can keep us trapped in the past, while anxiety makes us fear the future. In an always-connected world, constant notifications, social comparisons and digital pressure can add to everyday anxiety, particularly among young people. Understanding our emotions, managing stress and building healthier screen habits are essential to protecting mental well-being. Nearly all major forecasters, including the IMF, ADB and World Bank, have recently raised their growth forecasts for India to above 7% for this year AND next. Remarkable in itself - even more so when viewed against India’s recent performance. (1/n)

In the long run, the protest economy needs a permanent, sensible solution. I have a few suggestions. I am not claiming these are comprehensive. But let us start having mature discussions. 1. Stop using Jantar Mantar as a protest site, as it has a small capacity. Move the protest site to another area where we can arrange proper facilities, such as washrooms and temporary food. Honestly, when you go to a political rally or protest, you might die of dehydration in India. We deserve better protest areas. 2. Every protest should also default to allowing their counter-protesters equal space in the same area. Let them both shout at each other and leave the rest alone. 3. The entire protest space should have cameras with facial recognition. If you wear a face mask, you should not be allowed. 4. Cops should have body cams. That way, both sides can make their case in case of a casualty on either side. 5. If a protest turns violent, that group should not be given permission for at least 5 years. That will disincentivise all elements from becoming violent. 6. The designated protest site has to be in a non-commercial area so that no damage can be caused to any business activity, whether retail or industrial/wholesale.
