The difference is love and good veterinary care. Steve Carell is on the right medication for his needs. He’s had the right therapy for his needs. That is aiding his improvement. The love that he has gotten since being taken into Rescue is the real magic.

He suffered in pain.
Just a puppy with…
A broken pelvis.
A fractured spine.
Dragging himself.
Crying.
A tail crusted in feces.
His elderly owner with 20+ other dogs tried but didn’t have help.
We helped.
X-rays, diagnostics, pain management, crate rest.
A call to our Herd frens, experts in trauma.
Meanwhile, like miracles we’ve seen before.
He walked.
But he needs more care.
Physical therapy. possible surgery, rehabilitation to live his best life.

Nina is proof of how much healing can change a dog's spirit. 🤍
After being used for breeding, she developed a painful, rotting 0.7kg tumour that left her hurting and angry at the world. Today, the mass is gone, and she is a totally different dog, pain-free, loving everyone she meets, and always smiling!

My meditation music and some petting and she would drift off again for the next 90 mins or so.
Little things like she doesn’t like the blankets and prefers colds tiles I figured out.

It was a long night. Birdie woke up every 90 minutes or so barking.
Had to figure out which bark meant she was thirsty etc. She was also a bit scared in new surroundings I think.

Major has now spent more than 560 days alone in a kennel at Austin's animal shelter.
On Sept 29 a federal judge said he'd rule within 10 days on whether an outside expert can evaluate him. That was almost three weeks ago. The public court record still shows no ruling. Both sides agreed on Oct 7 to extend the order that stops the city from putting him down, so he's alive. And he's still sitting there with no human touch, waiting.
If you missed it, a driver hit Major on a walk in March 2025. Hurt and scared, he bit a woman who was trying to lift him into a car. His owner says Major helps him with a brain injury and seizures. Austin wants him put down. All his owner is asking for is an independent evaluation first.
More than 54,000 people have signed the petition to free him.
Call Mayor Kirk Watson's office at 512-978-2100 and ask the city to allow an independent evaluation of Major before anyone makes this permanent.

Sending so much love to Abe as he heads to the big hospital today for his major leg operation! 🤍🏥
Before we rescued him, Abe had endured the hardest life imaginable. He was surviving on the streets with a severe leg injury from a car accident, constantly chased away with rocks by locals, and grieving his poisoned best friend. Catching this terrified boy was a huge challenge, but we finally got him to safety.
Despite his trauma, there is nothing but pure kindness in his eyes. He has months of recovery ahead, but his new life officially starts today. We are all rooting for you, Abe!

Birdied diagnosed with a broken hip. She fell in on herself we belief with her own weight.
Medical team have cleared out her bladder. She had pain relief and is a lot more comfortable today eating and drinking well.
She’s old so we’ll observe over coming days 🤞❤️
