Is the muse harness "Auto-review" an inside joke? It asks me for permission to do anything. Won't even run tests without asking.
Yo @finkd you need to add a profile picture to [email protected] on GitHub for that co-authored-by swag!
Was thinking prot warrior, just like in vanilla.
But that's commoditized by durid and pally being tanks now
So maybe hunter
But then everyone who's a casual dad will roll hunter?
So maybe priest. Or mage. Love portals.
"quick, buy Deno while boss is under"
Two medal plates and lots of screws to fix my right humerus, which I shattered in a bike accident in Europe earlier this week. Thanks to the amazing team at @HSpecialSurgery for patching me up better than new. And, yes, I’m insisting @zatlyn call me Iron Man.
Can't recommend @axiomhq enough. We're still only paying $25 per month. All our otel ends up there, and our LLMs debugs prod issues super fast with the MCP. We're now moving to physical servers instead of cloud, and it's trivial to set up all the monitoring dashboards we need.
These were my favorite desktop wallpapers in the early 2000s. Found them on an old backup thumbdrive!
No idea who made these.
We have a bunch of on device software. POS, various daemons, android apps, etc.
They all self update. No review gating, no app stores.
Cannot imagine doing it any other way.
We'll probably never support anything in the Apple ecosystem other than macOS because of this
Just ordered 2x physical servers to replace AWS for @snowbeesoftware 🤩
Had an AI agent run some overnight experiments to try different setups, seems like NixOS with software RAID and TPM for secure boot will work well.
Going to use Kamal for our app servers.
Here we go!
SpaceX Louisiana plans vs Norway government plans
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the scale of things in the US boggles the viking mind
We had an outage today caused by Microsoft Store.
Our POS app is distributed through Microsoft Store. On update, it calls GetAppAndOptionalStorePackageUpdatesAsync() and awaits. It never crossed our minds that this call could hang forever, but it did, and cashiers were not able to start POS.
Then, operators tried to delete the app, but they were not able to reinstall either, as the whole Microsoft Store app was lagging and the install was hanging indefinitely.
We have no idea what caused this, and it has only happened once after almost 6 months of operations across ~100 retail locations.
Safe to say, we've now moved to our own MSI installer and distribute the app ourselves. We could have updated our POS app so it timed out after a few seconds too, but self distribution is more convenient anyway. Easier to automate in CI, no need to wait for Microsoft to approve the app, etc.
Outages are always surprising!
wait what
Omarchy on Pixel 3a. I love quickshell, migrated almost every app from calls to weather app to QML. With shared theming and extended omarchy theming for rounded corners etc. @dhh
Maybe everyone installed the Questie addon eventually.
But before they did that, they asked in local chat where to find Hogger and Mankrik's wife.
Making people blindly follow map markers is an anti social and anti MMO default.
Honestly, this is the ONLY thing I don't like about WoW Forever. The option to show the location of quest objectives on your map.
I know this can be toggled off, but I don't think it should be an option.
Reading the quest, exploring the world, and asking strangers for help when you're stuck added so much to the Classic experience.
If I group with people who have this toggled on, all of that is gone. Just spam accept through the quest text and then mindlessly sprint to the blue circles on the map. Not a fan of that.
WoW Forever still looks amazing though. This is my ONLY complaint in what otherwise looks absolutely incredible.
I'm happy to return to Azeroth... along w all the other Vanilla OG's dusting off their gaming setups to make their return.
Crazy. Easy to forget that nobody had footage of the 1st plane when it happened.
This is just coming in: there appears to be a major fire on the upper floors of one of the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Reports claim that a small plane, either a Cessna or a private jet, accidentally flew into the tower around the 80th floor, due to either an air traffic control communications error or a malfunction on the aircraft.
The dozens of victims are in our thoughts. We will continue to monitor rescue and repair surrounding this alarming accident.
