¿Novia? ¿Qué es eso? ¿La menciona Agustín en De Haeresibus? ¿En qué concilio fue condenada? ¿Es Cristológica o Eclesiológica? ¿La mencionan los Padres Capadocios?
¿Tiene consenso historiográfico?

For most of the history of the Church of England this simulacrum of the Catholic Mass, complete with chasuble and biretta, would have been abhorrent to the Church authorities and the ordinary parson.

I’m afraid I don’t know what any of this means, since my knowledge of English comes from a fallible tutor.
Protestants like to talk about the meaning fo Greek words and base their interpretation of Scripture on those meanings.
How do Protestants know that a Greek word means this or that? They appeal to commentaries and dictionaries written by fallible men -- as if they are infallible. It is one giant circular argument used to persuade the ignorant people in the pews.
They have no authority by which to establish any true interpretation of Scripture, which leaves them in endless uncertainty, arguing with other Protestants for 500 years now.
