You don't magically become focused. You practice it. You notice you're distracted and snap out of it immediately, over and over again until it's second nature. Most people have not trained this muscle, and they are not anywhere close to as focused as they think they are.

If you're a beginner, nobody knows who you are. You have to prove your worth before people start caring enough to pay you. Make noise. Be annoying. Show your work in public. Do everything you can to get in front of the right people. All you need is one bite to change everything.

I make the most progress when I put myself into situations where I'm forced to sink or swim. Moving into a place I can't afford so I have to make the business work. Launching a product when it's not ready so I have to follow through. Tactical stress works.

Learning comes from struggle, not memorization. Start the project. No, don't watch 20 tutorials beforehand. Let it expose the gaps in your knowledge. Try to figure it out. Search for the answer when your mind is most likely to remember it. Publish the project. Repeat for life.
