Kind of surreal to share that our manuscript (using organoids and in vivo models to highlight the requirement of Nkx2-1 to maintain progenitor capacity in AEPs) is out in @NatureComms (nature.com/articles/s41467-0…), summarizing a large amount of my thesis work with
@DrWillZacharias.
We validate use of Tfcp2l1-CreERT2 for adult in vivo studies, with direct comparison to Axin2-CreERT2-tdt. Also, we show that organoids from Tfcp2l1+ adult epithelial cells clonally expand into organoids with similar structural/cellular complexity (compared to Axin2+ organoids).
Finally, thank you to our amazing collaborators/colleagues at @CincyChildrens, @CincyMSTP, @UCincyMedicine, @MDBCincy, and many more. None of this would have been possible without the huge amount of support we've received.

MSTP alum @AynaraCWulsin recently caught up with M3s Zana Percy, @eatdrinkbeMary, and @atoth147 in the UC EMU! You really can’t walk around @uc_health or @CincyChildrens without running into members of our program, and we love that.
Pretty awesome ending to my PhD with @DrWillZacharias – can’t say thank you enough. While it’s hard to leave some of these projects behind, I can’t wait to see the work coming out of the lab in the future. Now, back to medical school!
Thank you so much to @CuSTOMOrganoids and @BDR_RIKEN for this incredible opportunity and experience! Kobe has been wonderful!
Replying to @atoth147
@atoth147 gave a fantastic talk about transient cell states in lung damage and repair @BDR_RIKEN #organoid symposium

CuSTOM crew in Kobe for the. @BDR_RIKEN #organoid symposium. @ZornLab @JimWellsLab @MingxiaGu @jtchieu @SimonMiao6 About to get some yummy tonkotsu ramen.
Thrilled to share the preprint (biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…) of our work to understand key regulators of lung epithelial progenitors using in vitro organoids and in vivo mouse models as a large part of my thesis in @DrWillZacharias lab.
Please explore the preprint (biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…) for further details. All data is being uploaded and will also be explorable at lungmap.net. Reach out with questions about protocols, etc. (those protocol details will live rent-free in my brain forever).
This work wouldn't be possible without our countless collaborators/colleagues at @CincyChildrens, @UCincyMedicine, @MDBCincy, and many more.
