These are just frustrated high school students fighting for their pedagogic rights. Let's not succumb to Islamophobia. - @JessicaTarlov
Do these really look like high schoolers annoyed that their classrooms are too dirty?

When Carney was employed in USA he waved the American flag; when in Europe, he became a citizen (twice); when the PM of Canada gig was open, he became the most patriotic Canadian ever; for the next few days he’ll be an Albertan. He’s everyone’s boyfriend, for a moment.

Meet the Calgary mayor. He wishes he was a provincial or federal politician but he’s not. His city is falling apart. We have more massive water restrictions to fix failing pipes starting again soon, a lethal bus fire yesterday and massive tax increases proposed. I guess that’s all too hard for him so he’s not doing his job and instead daily posting about anything outside of his core responsibility. Dear mayor, do your job.
Calgary, come join me, Thomas Lukaszuk, and Prime Minister Mark Carney TONIGHT at the BMO Centre for the Forever Canadian rally! You don't have to choose between loving Alberta and loving Canada. Let's celebrate both! Doors open at 5pm. Free registration: forever-canadian.ca/en/rally

I was born in Calgary. I've spent my whole life in Toronto. Over the past two years, filming the documentary Broken Country, I've spent more time in Alberta than I have since I moved east. And I've come away seeing the separation debate very differently than I did going in. I met a lot of separatists. Almost none of them were who I expected. They weren't angry cranks with a flag. They were farmers, nurses, oil workers, small-business owners, grandparents. And the thing that surprised me most: most of them want nothing more than to remain in Canada. They just can't see another choice. Think about what they've lived through. The National Energy Program. Pipelines approved, then cancelled, then litigated into the ground. A tanker ban on one coast. Hundreds of billions sent east through equalization, returned as lectures about how the industry that pays for Canada's infrastructure and provincial shortfalls is something to be ashamed of. A federal government that has gone to court to argue Alberta's own resources aren't Alberta's business. And through all of it, a Parliament where their votes are a rounding error. You can disagree with every policy position Albertans hold and still see the pattern: a province that built one of the most productive economies on Earth, asked over and over to apologize for it. The people pushing for a referendum aren't traitors. They're patriots. They are standing up for what they believe in and fighting for a better future for their kids, a future their own federal government keeps telling them they don't deserve. That's not a tantrum. That's what citizens are supposed to do when nobody in power is listening. I'll say it plainly: I want nothing more than for Alberta to stay in Canada. This country is not whole without it. If Alberta leaves the country I love and am fighting for will cease to exist. But maybe a referendum vote is exactly the wake-up call the rest of us need. Not because Alberta should leave, but because the rest of Canada has to finally decide whether it wants to be a partner or a landlord.

Now the mayor of Calgary and the Prime Minister of Canada is platforming a political Campaigner who’s breaking financial disclosures taking donations and financial gifts from outside of Alberta. YOU’RE PROVING OUR ENTIRE POINT!! 🤦🏻‍♂️ What a fuckin joke.
Looking forward to welcoming Prime Minister Mark Carney and Thomas Lukaszuk to Calgary this Thursday for the Forever Canadian rally! Alberta's future is in a strong, united Canada. Let's show the country where Calgary stands. Free registration: forever-canadian.ca/en/rally

I am 61 - born here and lived my whole life in Alberta. I’ve been fortunate to travel the world. I see what socialism does to good countries and I see the importance of freedom, liberty, personal responsibility, & hard work. I have 3 grown children, their spouses, & my first grandchild who I want to live in a safe and prosperous country that is not led by global elites who don’t care about anything outside their profits. I’m tired of their lies, corruption, their misuse of our tax dollars. I’m tired of the destruction of our country with mass immigration that has put our health, education, & justice systems at great peril. Me and my entire family will be voting #2. #AlbertaIndependence

Mark Carney delivered a Thanksgiving message aimed at independence movement giving examples how confederation works with projects being built in Alberta; > Thousands of new homes. > High speed rail. > New pipeline. Except it isn't exactly true. Federal government interfering in municipal housing policies is unacceptable. We aren't building high speed rail or a new pipeline. We are just keep talking about them and there isn't even a conversation to approve anything. Carney forgot to mention that he is brining Alberta substantially higher carbon taxes, uneconomical project requirements such as the carbon capture and unvetted mass immigration that drove our costs and drove crime up.

/2 Did you democratically consult Calgarians before participating in the "Elbows Up" climate mayors conference, insulting the 22 MILLION American tourists who visit Canada w your "Elbows Up" theme? 100,000 air arrivals per month to #yyc !!! share.google/aimode/X6KLP3Dw… STIRLING: Elbows down, fix potholes — why Canadian mayors must end their delusional climate crusade By attacking fossil fuels and insulting American visitors, virtue-signalling municipal leaders are threatening the very economy keeping Canadian cities afloat. westernstandard.news/opinion…

Traci, that’s exactly the double standard I’ve been pointing out. The mayor is entitled to his opinion on the referendum, but so are Albertans who disagree with him. And municipalities are under provincial jurisdiction. I’d rather see the mayor focus on Calgary’s finances, infrastructure and the issues he was elected to address. There’s certainly no shortage of work to be done.

I find it rather rich that Calgary’s and Edmonton’s mayors are calling the province’s actions an attack on democracy and telling Premier Smith to stay in her lane. Both weighed in on Alberta’s provincial referendum, and Calgary’s mayor went as far as using the term “useful idiots” when discussing Alberta separatists on national television. They were both elected to manage municipal affairs, not to continually tell Albertans how to vote on provincial matters. They are absolutely allowed to have an opinion, but first and foremost, they should do their jobs. If they expect the Premier to stay in her lane, perhaps they should both stay in theirs. That’s a double standard, plain and simple.
With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions.

I'm 60 years old Born and raised in Alberta I've owned a business here for 25 years Trudeau Sr. tried to kill my father's business Trudeau Jr. came for mine Canada's abandoned its own people in almost every conceivable way. I'm now abandoning Canada and voting option #2
I am 44 years old. I was born and raised in Calgary. I’ve lived my entire life in Alberta. I’ve never voted Liberal. I’m disgusted with the the Trudeau/Carney government. I want nothing to do with the EU. I don’t support mass immigration. I’m sick of the corruption, deceit, never-ending taxes, lies, and falsehoods. I will be voting Option 2.

Under this Calgary Council, Calgarians are facing record cost increases that will erode affordability & will hurt many. We can't recall anyone from #yyccc until April 2027, we will recall every councilor that votes for tax increases. I ask no one rush in until we are organized
