Thank you to @ValpoBaseball and coaches @CoachABrian and @c_pletcher24 for the opportunity to compete today. Iโ€™m excited to have hit another new PR at 87mph outfield velocity. @atkinsonhitting @ChuckPeters @stl_coachpete12 @PrepBaseballIL @udcbaseball @stlbaseball1

Stop losing your backside before you even swing. Mini band around the knees. Load against it โ€” push that back knee out and feel the back hip grab. Dry reps, tee, flips, BP, whatever. The band teaches the coil without you forcing it. Follow for more.

Stop saying you donโ€™t have time to get better. It takes a little as 5 minutes and a mirror daily.

$10 can change your swing and raise your exit velo. The band allows your to feel a coil and gives your back leg something to push against Breakdown tomorrow. Follow for more!

It's not always your swing. You rake in the cage because nothing challenges you. Same pitch, same speed, no pressure. Then the game is chaos โ€” and you've never trained for it. Stop only doing feel-good training. Make practice harder than the game, so the game feels easy.

Work in to out. When you turn tight, your bat has the ability to stay inside the ball and get to extension at the proper time. Working out and around, leads to cutting across the zone and not being able to hit through contact. Save this if you struggle with this!

Do more mirror work! Many hitters struggle to get in a facility daily and get reps off an arm or machine. Get in the mirror for 10 minutes a day. Feel your load. Feel the launch position. Repeat. Make it a habit.

FEEL vs REAL A-Rod tells you to swing down through the baseball like it's a 9-iron, not a lob wedge. Now watch his actual swing. The barrel works slightly UP through contact. He's not lying to you. That feel is what produced the right move for him.

Your goal as a hitter isn't to get a hit every at-bat. It's to give your team the best chance to win. Bauers didn't get a hit. He took a 12-pitch at-bat, wore Yamamoto down, and walked to load the bases. Next man up, Yelich drives in two. That's winning baseball.

The Brewers are the ultimate OUTLIER When I was diving in on the game and pitching matchup yesterday I found this. This is a statistic of the average degree of the barrel of the bat at contact point for each team. Everything to the left is pull side contact point. Everything to the right is opposite field contact point. 29 of the 30 teams are to the pull side. Thereโ€™s just one to the opposite field. The Milwaukee Brewers. This is wild to me. And speaks volumes to their team approach. It means the ball is traveling deeper which has a ripple effect on everything else youโ€™re trying to do as a hitter. It allows you to recognize off speed for a split second longer. Spit on pitches down and away. Keep pitches fair that youโ€™re normally pulling foul. Foul line to foul line approach. The team with the best record in all of baseball is the ONLY team doing something. And theyโ€™re not even particularly close to any other teams. Thatโ€™s pretty eye opening. Also shoutout Twins. Turn and burn, baby.

Most lefties struggle against lefties. I had a 1.000+ OPS against them my senior year at Bradley. Hereโ€™s how: Hunt the outer-half fastball. Most lefties want to tie you up inside and get you chasing soft stuff away.
