Accidental. Walking back to my car, tripod and camera over my shoulder, I must have somehow hit the shutter button a few times. I think theyre kind of cool.

North by Northwest is interesting because you’re looking at what was, at the time, a brand new world. The UN, CIA, the mid-century modern. Even Mount Rushmore was only 18 years old.
Eva Marie Saint, who starred in memorable classic films such as “North by Northwest” and “On the Waterfront,” has died at 102. variety.com/2026/film/news/e…

Balloons in the subway, New York, 1984, photo by Frank Horvat An interesting tension between a subway car full of balloons and colors, and the grit of the 1980s New York train system.

The more you know 🤔
Nov. 1, 1966 — On All Saints Day, at the Pontchartrain Hotel on St. Charles Avenue, NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle, joined by House Majority Leader Hale Boggs and Senate Majority Whip Russell Long, announced that the City of New Orleans had been awarded the league’s newest franchise. Unknown publicly at the time was that Rozelle had cut a secret deal with the two powerful members of Louisiana’s congressional delegation. In return for Boggs and Long’s support for legislation containing an antitrust exemption that would allow the NFL to merge with the American Football League, the Commissioner ensured that the Crescent City got its own professional football team. #LaLege #WhoDat
