I don’t know what you’re giving or getting this Christmas but this one thing I know: God gave us Jesus and let it be known from the deepest abyss to the highest heaven that no one can take him from those who receive. Jesus, my only Hope. My Joy. My Salvation. My Peace. My Rescue.

This strikes deep 🙌🏻❤️
We damage the dignity of others when we refuse to wait for them – whether they need to tie their own shoes or they are struggling to find words for the indescribable. We bestow honor on another when we consider him or her worth waiting for.

“Christmas is about family.” Yes! It’s about the unique moment in history when God asked an unwed young woman to give birth to a child who would create a family of God not defined by biology, race, gender, or social status. What good news for the lonely and forgotten.

There’s a big difference between keeping it real and being indiscreet. Trust is earned. If you can’t keep a confidence, don’t expect people to confide in you.

Reminder: Just because you can’t imagine struggling with a particular sin doesn’t mean it’s any “worse” than the particular sin you do struggle with. Sin is sin. Struggle is struggle. Show people the same compassion you require. ❤️

This looks like me trying to pass the Presidential Fitness Test back in the early 80’s.
Baby gibbon Kip, who is just over a month old, shows off his impressive pull-up skills at the Dallas Zoo.

Need help with a project! 🙏 What advice you you offer a Christian young adult woman who was struggling to appreciate/embrace her singleness?

Something about @toddasanders makes children want to aim bubble wands at him. 😂

I feel like the doctor that diagnosed my dislocated rib should have listed trying on swimsuits among the strenuous activities I should avoid. Just sayin’.

Today, I heard someone other than family refer to my unborn grandson by name, and I wasn’t ready for the happy tears that unleashed. Even better? They prayed for him in my hearing. ❤️😭❤️

Social media is full of voices warning that if you’re not angry, upset, or concerned, than you are either naive or not paying attention. So, how can we discern when this is coming from wisdom, or simply their anxiety? Check their feed.

Snark is not a Fruit of the Spirit. It’s low hanging fruit that easily distracts from the purpose. Don’t give the enemy anything to work with. Borrowing from the @grayhavensmusic don’t “lower (your) gaze and (listen) to the face of low desires.”

Is this off the table now? “When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly.” (1 Corinthians 4:12b-13a) Christian, it absolutely cannot be.

Thankful for these reminders of God’s goodness today: laughter with friends, a break in the weather, kids being kids, people serving the Lord with joy through challenge, and spoken words of love.

So very thankful God never has to say, “Well, there’s nothing I can do about that.”
