In the ER, he says doctors recorded an adverse drug reaction, prescribed arthritis medication, and when he said he had no arthritis, told him he did now. Days later, with swollen legs and pain, another ER doctor said blood work showed muscle breakdown and advised a vaccine injury clinic. Hart says his doctor diagnosed vaccine injury. He went on disability leave, was later dropped by his family doctor as "out of area," and says the clinic wanted to study rather than treat him, leaving him relying on emergency visits and painkillers for over a year. He says doctors feared losing their licences by documenting treatment, and that a specialist said causation was beyond their scope. Hart is now permanently disabled. He walks with a cane and knee brace for short distances, has painful flare-ups, and says GM refused accommodation and forced him onto long-term disability. He describes being labelled anti-vax and the toll on his family. Hart complied in good faith, mandated by his employer, trusting the experts. Yet when harm followed, the same system labelled him anti-vax. Doctors feared documenting treatment, clinics studied instead of treating, specialists claimed causation was "beyond their scope." Jasmeet Grewal, 35, was a business development manager for an AI company in Toronto. It spread throughout his entire body. He tried stretching, heat, massage, physiotherapy, and support from friends. Nothing helped. It kept getting worse. Over the following months, he developed tingling in his legs and began losing balance - tumbling, fumbling, bumping into walls, missing stairs. He avoided going to the doctor because he felt there shouldn't be anything wrong. He was young and fit. When he finally saw his family doctor, he was told after a questionnaire that it seemed psychological - something in his head causing adverse effects in his body. He did not fully agree, but he took the mental health route seriously anyway. He then saw a neurologist, who also associated his symptoms with a psychological issue. A video from that time shows him struggling to stabilize his gait, hyperextending his quads to compensate. He was in constant shooting pain and had coordination problems. He was told it was in his head. He went to an emergency department downtown, where similar neurological examinations led to a diagnosis of FND - functional neurological disorder. He did not know what to make of it. He wanted an EMG, an electromyogram, believing an objective test would settle whether it was truly in his head. The first neurologist wanted one done but said there was no rush. Months passed. He switched doctors. The new doctor felt something was wrong just from hearing his symptoms and seeing him briefly. On April 29, 2022, he got a call that an appointment had been cancelled. He rushed in. They did the EMG on his whole lower body and upper body. It showed what he describes as severe demyelination throughout his entire body, no neuron feedback into their system. He was hospitalized immediately. He was in the hospital for six months. He has not walked since. Attempts were made in the hospital, but nothing comfortably. He has lost nerve function in his lower limbs. He has burning nerve pain throughout his entire body, even now, as he speaks. He has hand tremors he cannot control. It is painful all the time. About a year after discharge, his digestive system failed. He now depends on two pumps running 12 hours a day. The first goes into his stomach through a gastrojejunostomy tube, bypassing his stomach so his gastrointestinal system can still absorb nutrients and proteins. The second is TPN - total parenteral nutrition - going directly into a large vein in his chest, delivering carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. He cannot eat or drink orally. If he tried to drink water, it would come right back up. Even without eating or drinking, he still vomits every few hours - bile, whatever is in his stomach. He describes the hardest part as the daily navigation, knowing every night after disconnecting everything he can rest, and every morning he must start both machines immediately or he won't get his necessary caloric intake, causing more side effects. He is deeply appreciative of his family, close friends, and partner. But he is navigating it in his own head, seeing where he could have been, what could have been. Seeing old photos and videos is confounding. He says this is where he is supposed to be for whatever reason, and speaking about it is what he felt he had to do. He applied for the Vaccine Injury Support Program. He was denied initially. The doctors could not confirm or deny that it was from the vaccine. But given the timeline, how he was before and how the effects happened after, they always said it was a possibility. A strong possibility. He is appealing, and describes submitting 80 to 100 pages of records. He travelled to the hearing by train because his pumps need power. He was a believer. He thought he was doing the right thing. He had no hesitation. He deserves care, answers, and support, not ambiguity. And cases like his should push real, sustained effort to ensure these products are as safe as they can possibly be, and that those who are injured are not left to navigate it alone.

The tumor doubled in size in just two weeks. Her oncologist said this rate of growth is what they'd normally see over a 10-year span in a cancer patient. From diagnosis to death: six weeks. She was 23. She never smoked. She was a ring girl at MMA fights in December 2022. By April 2023, she was unrecognizable. Her platelets dropped to 6 (normal is 150-450). She bled from her nose for 24 hours. She coughed up massive blood clots. Her organs shut down one by one. She went into metabolic acidosis. On May 2, 2023, Nicole crawled into bed with her daughter, sang her a lullaby, and held her as she took her last breath.
