Public rate vs my rate, Part 4 Pan Pacific Singapore, 3 nights in Nov! ₹40k less for the same room. Plus daily breakfast, a $100 hotel credit, an upgrade if available, and a guaranteed 4pm checkout Same hotel. Same room. Just booked differently.
New series: public rate vs my rate. People keep asking if booking through an advisor actually saves money. So I’m just going to show you, one hotel at a time. Kicking it off with Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok.

You land on a dirt airstrip in the middle of Zambia. No terminal, no queue. Just a 4x4 waiting and a guide who says the lions were out this morning. Twenty minutes later you’re at Anantara’s new camp on the Kafue River. It sits between two islands, and there are only 13 villas and suites in the whole place. Yours has a private pool hanging over the water. Next morning you’re up with the birds doing yoga on the deck. Then a game drive through Kafue National Park, which is one of the biggest parks in Africa and somehow still one of the least visited. You see elephants and maybe a leopard, and the whole time you don’t run into a single other vehicle. Afternoon is a slow boat ride down the river. Crocs on the sandbanks, hippos popping up next to you, someone handing you a drink. Then dinner at the boma as the sun drops behind the trees, with a fire going and nothing but bush noise around you. That’s the trip. Everyone’s been to the Mara. Almost nobody’s been here yet. DM me if you want to be one of the first.

Apple TV for ₹39,900 is wild. Yes, it’s got the A19 and 128GB—but this is a box that plays Netflix. You could book a solid hotel night for that.

Most people think a travel advisor’s job ends once the booking is confirmed. Had a client tell me exactly that last night, right after I’d spent the evening fixing a problem with their stay. Booking is the easy part. Being on call before, during and after the trip is what you’re actually paying for. Except you’re not paying, the hotel is.

Was doom scrolling Insta at midnight and a reel pops up. “Stop wasting your Accor points on boring hotels, book these EXPERIENCES instead!” Ok cool, let’s see. Number 2. Fairmont Maldives. Except, That hotel stopped being Fairmont in 2024. It’s not even Accor anymore. Now picture some guy who saves this, moves his Axis points to Accor, opens the app all excited and the hotel just isn’t there. And you can’t move points back. Bro it’s one Google search. Do it before you post.

Thanks a lot Saumya! Glad the stay went well, and sorry about the hiccup. Happy we could sort it quickly 🙏
I have been following @asktarunn on X for sometime. Recently I booked my hotel via Tarun and the entire experience was 100/100. He got a a deal 30% cheaper than the actual rates published for Shangri-la Singapore. Right from check in to check out his team was ensuring 1/2

Update: safari’s done and the verdict is in. “We had a great safari experience, thanks to you.” Planning Kenya? DM me. I’ve got some really good offers running right now.
A client booked a Masai Mara trip for her in-laws, both in their 60s. Long journey, early arrival. They checked in at 6 am and got upgraded 5 levels to a suite. Her message this morning: "Yes, we got upgraded to suites. Beautiful property." This is why I do this.

Limbo’s over. $1,000 in Claude credits just showed up in my account. If you applied before the pause, check your billing page. Mine came through quietly, no heads-up.
Update: Anthropic paused the Team plan and $1K credits after hundreds of thousands of applications in a few days. Already claimed offers stay. Everything else is under review. So my Team plan’s safe, but the $1K credits are in limbo. If yours vanished from the dashboard, that’s why.

Update: MKBHD saw it (on Threads) and asked if there’s anything productive to do with 2.1M miles besides flights.
Everyone’s watching MKBHD’s video for the Googlebook. I’m watching it for the 2.1M United miles in the corner of his screen. What would you book with 2.1M miles?
