Do people know about the extortionate FX fees their SIPP and ISA providers charge?
They market low stock commissions and bury the massive FX charges in the small print.
UK traditional ISA providers have been quietly charging extortionate fx fees on non-UK stock transactions. @ii_couk charge 1.5% each way (3% roundtrip which is huge chunk of performance), with no way of holding non gbp cash to park by country. There is no justification for a 1.5% fx fee in a world that can provide retail fx at near flat (Revolut et al).
They sell themselves on low commision on the share transactions but hide the fx fees in the small print
They are going to have to change or platforms like Trading 212 are going to eat them alive.

FX fees on @ii_couk Interactive Investor ISA trades are outrageous. 1.5% when you buy + when you sell, with no option for holding anything other than £. I mess around trading £5k or so per trade, so that’s £150 per trade for FX, £7.98 total to buy and sell. +£9.99 monthly fee.

With TP pushing up towards uncomfortable highs and Jeanette soon sitting on > $ 900 b in her much loved TGA (post April Tax collections from the plebs) odds are she will do the Fed job for JPOW and drive the TGA down to the ground to make-up for implicit tightening through no cuts.
The coordination between the 2 has hit unprecedented highs last couple of years. Not sure it’s healthy.
