They stopped the flow of the Ganga near Har ki paudi at Haridwar for next 18 days just so they can clean it before Diwali. And the moment the water level dropped the truth came out...the entire riverbed is buried under clothes, plastic bags, discarded slippers, and pure filth.
The natural stones that should be there..but completely hidden under our garbage.
Year after year the same story bhakts leave behind their waste the administration stops the water once a year, locals cleans up the mess we created and then we start dumping again the moment the water returns. 😒
You cant revere a river as divine and simultaneously turn her into a landfill.
If this is how we treat the river we claim to worship then maybe we dontt deserve to call her MAA at all.
Period !!
Have just washed 3 laundry baskets. Tell me I have not gone too far in my diwali ki safayi? #diwalikisafayi

After the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer and a BJP spokesperson questioned DeKoder's earlier SIR analysis, Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) responds with a closer look at the data.
Is counting seats won enough to understand SIR's electoral impact? What does the vote swing reveal that the seat tally doesn't?
Watch till the end and follow DeKoder for more.

Jantar Mantar or any other random locations are not the sites of protest. The real sites of protest are minds without fear and heads held high.
And these can’t be controlled by a court order.

I strongly feel that we in Uttarakhand cannot always keep measuring tourism success only by the number of people entering our towns or pilgrim places. This is a myopic, illogical and immature approach. More pilgrims or tourists do not automatically always mean higher incomes or better livelihoods. Roads, water, waste systems, forests & local communities all have limits. The state must assess carrying capacity & regulate tourism accordingly, even if it means saying no to unchecked growth. The Himalayas are not an unlimited commercial resource. It's time to put people & ecology before a new record. That's a more sensible and a more grounded approach.

Senior journalist Sreenivasan Jain expresses shock after witnessing a woman journalist being detained by Delhi Police while covering protests in the national capital.
Speaking to DeKoder, Jain says the reporter had identified herself, was carrying her press credentials and was visibly equipped with a microphone. Despite repeated objections from Jain and other journalists present, he says police took her away.
Jain alleges that the detention happened under the supervision of a senior IPS officer and calls the incident “appalling.”
The incident comes hours after the Supreme Court's October 11 hearing, during which the Court recorded an assurance that journalists, lawyers and other professionals would not be obstructed in performing their duties.

this government’s priorities are genuinely fucking disgusting. just two weeks ago, hundreds of lady shri ram college students were on the streets protesting for basic rights, demanding functional CCTV cameras, better lighting, pink booths, security especially around gate 7 & the back gate. women were on the streets demanding basic safety and the government headed by rekha gupta couldn’t show the same urgency.
but just a day before the Jantar Mantar protest on 10th october, suddenly there’s an order to install 1,000+ cameras around the protest site. THOUSANDS. yeah they successfully installed more than thousand cameras in just 2 days. apparently, the government knows how to mobilise resources overnight when it comes to keeping an eye on citizens who raise their voices, but becomes deaf, dumb and paralysed when young women from one of the finest institution of this country demands protection in the nation’s capital.
they have the machinery to watch you, the manpower to stop you and the resources to control & suppress you. what they apparently lack is the urgency to protect you.
the most fucking shameful part? delhi has a woman chief minister, yet women’s safety seems to be the last thing on this government’s priority list. when women demand protection, the system goes silent. when citizens prepare to protest, suddenly the cameras, barricades and police are ready. if a woman becoming chief minister doesn’t make women’s safety a priority in nation’s capital, then what the fuck was the point of having one? and some of you spineless clowns still have the fucking audacity to defend this government & their spineless actions?!!
As always Dr. Roy bringing the best analysis
How the SIR deletions affect the Bengal election results? Were certain categories of voters targeted and if so, what were the consequences?
Does the analysis of Bengal elections suggest any lessons for the forthcoming state elections?
Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) uses data on SIR deletions and swings in votes to answer these and other questions about the impact of SIR on the Bengal elections.

I was five the first time I was molested....
Yup 5....
I didn't even know what molestation or sequel abuse meant
Every time I read about a woman being molested I remember.
I remember the first time I was molested. I must have been 11 or 12 in a crowded marketplace. Or was it the second time because I think I was too little for memories. It is blurry.
I remember a bus conductor holding my hand and refusing to let go. I struggled and struggled to pull my hand away and he just laughed.
Or the time on the local train when a man was pleasuring himself looking at me.
And I remember all the other times. So many that I couldn’t possibly count them now.
I remember learning to hit back. Learning to use my elbows in crowded places. Learning to turn around fast enough to catch the person who had touched me or blown their breath on me. I remember carrying a safety pin thinking I was the first woman in the world to have come up with this brilliant idea. I wasn’t of course. Something I found out recently that women had been carrying safety pins for exactly the same reason long before I was born.
And I don’t think men understand this.
No matter how wonderful a man is, how empathetic he is, how much he loves the women in his life, I don’t think he can ever really understand what it is like to grow up this way.
To be 11 or younger and already learning how to protect your body from strange men. To automatically become alert when you enter a crowded bus or a market. To know where someone’s hands are. To learn to push, elbow, shout and hit.
They can be horrified. They can be angry for us. They can believe us. But they don’t remember being little boys and learning these things because they had to.
We had to.
And every single time I read another story I am angry all over again. So angry!
For that woman, yes.
But also for 11 year old me. And for every little girl who is going to learn the same things we did.
When does it end?!

Govt of India should ask Himalayan states like Uttarakhand and others to go slow on the GDP accelerator. Protection of the Himalayas is economically beneficial for downstream regions and states. Hinalyan states and it's people must be compensated for providing valuable eco system services. Continued "mindless development" will only destroy the Himalayas and disturb it's people. It's time for review and calibration. This should be a deliberate and cautious strategy.
