“We love missionaries of all ages. You are an army of righteousness with the doctrine of Christ as your purpose. You are a force of faith, power, love, and joy. You are what you preach. You are not only the messengers but also living examples of the message. Make no mistake—you are doing the most important work you could be doing. We thank you for building up the kingdom of God on earth.”

It’s one thing to say, “That’s hard.” It’s another to truly get it. The scriptures tell us that in addition to suffering for our sins, the Jesus Christ took upon Himself all of our pains, sicknesses, and anguish (Alma 7:11–12). If you feel like no one understands, He does. How has He helped you lately?

Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Miraflores Guatemala City Guatemala Temple on Sunday, October 11, 2026. "In this 'Land of Eternal Spring,' we are grateful for Jesus Christ, who offers eternal life," he said in his dedicatory prayer. "We are thankful for His divine mission and perfect life, and even for His atoning sacrifice. Jesus Christ redeems us from physical and spiritual death. He has every good gift and blessing available for each of us now and throughout eternity." The temple is the second to be dedicated in Guatemala City and the fourth in the country. “Therefore ye must always pray unto the Father in my name;
And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.
Pray in your families unto the Father, always in my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed.”

“Brothers and sisters, do you realize that your testimony can literally change lives— your own and the lives of others?
As you share it FREELY, your own testimony will grow stronger.
You will draw closer to the Lord and feel more deeply the power of His redemption.
In turn, you will become instruments in His hands to bless and minister to those around you.”
