Circuit revisited: tokenized domains with @domaprotocol
@SDMikeCM joined us to talk about a market he calls a $360B industry that still trades through checks, escrow and NDAs, and why Doma thinks the fix is putting domains onchain.

Institutions aren't waiting for Solana to get faster. It already did. What's holding them back is the boring stuff: where their orders sit, and who's close to the block when it's built. Robin on the real blockers π

A solana slot is, as of right now, ~200ms. Here's what happens inside one, and why where you sit matters.

Nine public companies just objected to OKX and ICE tokenizing their stock.
@Cointelegraph covers the issuer pushback under the SECβs innovation exemption, including Broadcom, Verizon and UnitedHealth.
Our CEO @degenroot: βIssuers arenβt objecting to the blockchain. Theyβre objecting to not knowing what happens to their price once it trades there. On a public chain, the validator building the block sets the order. Until desks can measure their distance to that point, best execution is a promise, not a number.

Everyone on Solana is measuring how close they can get to the block. We went with zero. Blackline runs your strategy on the same hardware as the validator that builds it. Trade where the block is built.

Quick explainer before Wednesday:
Finality = the point a transaction can't be reversed.
Alpenglow's first half, Votor, changes how validators vote on blocks. Vote transactions also leave blocks, so headline TPS will drop with no drop in real activity.

The week ahead on Solana (Spoiler, it's big!)
Alpenglow is scheduled to activate on mainnet on Wed 21 Oct, epoch 1064, ~15:00 UTC.
It replaces TowerBFT and targets ~150ms finality, down from ~12.8s today.
The biggest consensus change since genesis.

The block keeps getting faster. Distance to it doesn't.

Some of our favorite things this week weren't built by us.
Art series on their 50th-plus drop, a dragon in a chef's hat, karaoke nights, bingo nights, and explainers clearer than some of ours.
To everyone who makes, hosts, explains and shows up... thank you. This is what a community looks like.

Key takeaways from Solana Circuit #43 with @SDMikeCM of @domaprotocol:
1. Domains are the oldest online RWA. Mike calls them a $360B industry with very little liquidity.
2. Fractionalizing domains lets owners raise cash and cover renewal fees without selling the whole name.
3. Onchain sales put prices in public, in a market where big deals have usually closed under NDA.
4. The first ICANN round in 14 years is bringing new extensions like .agent, and Doma's Frontier gives stakers early access.
5. Doma's domain asset vehicles, index-style baskets of domains, plan to launch on Solana first.

Stake SOL, get rkuSOL. Staking rewards plus validator MEV.
The bit people miss: stake decides how often Raiku's validators build blocks.
Use it on Sanctum, Kamino, Loopscale, Exponent and Jupiter.

Domains are the internet's oldest real-world asset, and @domaprotocol wants to bring them onchain.
On Solana Circuit #43, @SDMikeCM explained how Doma tokenizes and fractionalizes domains through its own ICANN-accredited registrar, D3. The goal is to bring liquidity and transparent pricing to a market that has long run on NDAs and private escrow.
Mike also covered Frontier, which lets users stake on Solana to get early access to new extensions from the first ICANN round in 14 years.
