thanks for the recipe @levelsio, I modified your recipe a bit to squeeze half an orange instead of (or in addition to) lemon. it's a really nice snack between lunch and dinner 😋
"most people don't know this but the other end of the cable is plugged into a chicken" 😂

this is how guye adola, the winner of recent berlin marathon, runs the 38th km. long strides, shoes with a lot of cushioning, landing on his toes/mid-foot.
average pace of 2:54 min/km or 20.61 km/h - my bicycle's avg speed :-)
15 min video of history of Armenia in a single prompt to opus 5.5. images taken from wikimedia commons, metropolitan museum of art, with narration, music, sound effects, maps.
impressive.
now that majority of the code is written by ai is there a need to invent new programming languages? the purpose of a new programming language was to make it easier for humans to write code, now the purpose would be to make it easier for ai to code?
"attention is all you need" paper by google enabled current ai and llms which are getting so much smarter so quickly.
maybe for us, humans, controling our "attention" better is the key to achieve more too?
over a nice dinner @senikyan promptly brought rossini's quote "eating, loving, singing, and digesting are the four acts of the comic opera known as life, and they pass like bubbles of a bottle of champagne. whoever lets them break without having enjoyed them is a complete fool." 🥩
in contrast, amazon e-commerce doesn't remove any negative reviews. i've worked there for a few years so i'm certain. there are fake reviews that we were fighting back but never removed negative reviews. removing would increase return rates and hurt amazon's reputation.
This is pretty much most of my friend's Airbnb stories
I have no clue what @bchesky is doing every day
He could stop removing negative reviews on Airbnb to make it better
When people stop believing in Airbnb listings credibility, it creates such an anxiety around booking because you simply don't know if you will have an experience like the QT below
And people will just go book elsewhere for more certainty, as I did
We live in the time of honesty and transparency so Airbnb is literally off trend
half joke, half serious - all you smart people out there doing magic with AI, curing cancer and more, can you develop a vaccine to cure the children annoying their parents? that would help fixing the demographics problem in the long run and have huge impact on humanity overall. @elonmusk?
i love brazilian jiu-jitsu. i want to do it until my wheels fall off. it makes me feel more alive and aware.
fun story. in an onboarded flight with prolonged waiting the pilot realized my son was getting too bored and suggested to come sit his place while we wait for the flight approval. both my wife and son were super excited. thanks to the @easyJet pilot for this nice gesture.
feature request to @X (who does product after @nikitabier?). it would be very useful for me to be able to explore top X accounts in certain categories of my interest so i could follow them. it feels like a natural need that many would want to have, or? I'm sorry if this already exists and I missed it.
strangely, only recently i learned about alfred adler, an austrian psychologist and one of the founders of modern psychology. he claims "many of the stresses in life come from trying to live according to other people’s expectations or trying to control how others feel about us". so true.
adlerian philosophy contrasts sharply with freud's. while Freud argued that human behavior is driven by past trauma, biological drives, and the unconscious mind, adler claimed that people are teleological -motivated by future goals, conscious choices, and a fundamental desire to belong.
i recommend this book "the courage to be disliked" by ichiro kishimi and fumitake kogais who explore adler's ideas in depth.
one of the positive things of having kids is that you develop your explaining skills to be exceptionally clear, summarized in simple words, to convince them do what you want.
two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “morning, boys. how’s the water?” and the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes “what the hell is water?” -- from david foster wallace's 2005 commencement speech.
i keep remembering this story repeatedly, it's fun and makes me think maybe I'm not noticing obvious things around me🧐
