I've seen some folks wondering about fighting games at the 2026 Asian Games, so here's a short thread about it: The Asian Games is the second biggest multi sport event and is hosted every four years. SF6, Tekken 8, and KOFXV were combined as "Competitive Martial Arts" in 2026 and are treated as a single team tournament between teams from different countries in Asia. 13 nations are included in the fighting game division with 3 players each (1 per title), and they play the other nations' representatives in their respective games. The first two days of the tournament are played in a separate venue and as far as I know are not being streamed. For the group stage the teams were divided into 4 groups, and 2 teams from each group will advance. The second stage will be a single-elimination bracket at a larger arena on September 25–26, with the finalists receiving medals for their respective countries during the closing ceremony on October 4th.
