The need for #adaptation is here now. The current disconnect between lagging #climate ambition and fast rising impacts on people, communities and businesses cannot hold.

Congratulations to @MarkJCarney - a visionary leader.
By the way America...you do realize that in North America we have one neighbor, Canada, with a key leader on #climatefinance as the incoming PM and another, Mexico, led by a #climatescientist.
Think about that...I sure am.
The US is intent of finding ways to marginalize itself. This step - and there will soon be many more - is bad for all, and is misguided even if your goal is solely to exert American influence.

Continues to be heartbreaking to see my hometown devastated.

Brava Yassamin!
A lovely and very meaningful tribute.
Go get โem in the House!
Tonight I had the honor of taking my dad, Bijan (we call him Beej) as my date to a White House reception with President Biden for new Members of Congress โ as a gift for his 70th birthday.
My dad immigrated to the United States to study engineering at the University of Oregon. He grew up in a working class family in Iran, and spent the first summer in the US cleaning dorm rooms to make extra money. After graduating, he spent 17 years working at the public works department of a county in Washington State. Later in life, he worked himself through business school at nights and started his own company. If thatโs not the American Dream, I donโt know what is.
What I hate most about politics is the amount of lies Iโve had to endure about my family and our story. Iโm so proud to have the hardest working parents who sacrificed everything โ fleeing a brutal, theocratic regime during their home countryโs revolution โ to give their future kids a better life and opportunity. My dad is the most patriotic American I know, and Iโm so grateful he encouraged me to pursue my lifelong passion for public service.
On top of that, heโs my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the funniest person Iโve ever known. Happy birthday Beej. Thank you for everything โค๏ธ
Iโm glad he lived long enough to see historians give him his due.
May his memory be a blessing.
Breaking news: Jimmy Carter, a no-frills and steel-willed Southern governor who was elected president in 1976, died Sunday at his home in Plains, Georgia, according to his son. He was 100 and the oldest living U.S. president of all time. wapo.st/3ZU3Q1M
A legend. My son played little league at the Oakland park where Rickey played.
Insult to injury for Oaklandโs proud baseball tradition after the departure of the Aโs.

Not really posting here anymore, but I did want to make this important point: please come over and follow me at aroncramer.bsky.social.
Lots going on in the world and there's a lot going on over there.
This is a story that needs attention. The candidate's serial misrepresentations about #climate and the environment are not as lurid as many others, but they are exceptionally important to our shared future in a rapidly warming and volatile world.
Trump says he wants "clean air and clean water." His policies would lead to more pollution.

Bravo โฆ@mroth78โฉ for shining a much needed light on political engagement and how it intersects with and can enrich the essence of education. I hope every campus takes these words to heart.
