For my English-speaking followers, let's get the facts straight about the Stubb–Støre call with Putin. New reporting from Finland provides important details missing from much of the international debate. Some of the initial accusations now look rather premature. First, why did the call happen? According to President Stubb, Ukraine's peace negotiations were close to collapsing last week, with relations between Kyiv and Washington in serious trouble. Finnish sources suggest there was even a risk of the US disengaging from the process. At Zelenskyy's request, Finland and Norway organised the Oslo talks with American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, alongside other European representatives. The subsequent call to Putin was prepared with Ukraine and the US. According to Finnish sources, key allies were informed beforehand and briefed afterwards. Helsinki also wanted Ukraine to publicly confirm its support for the initiative. Zelenskyy has since explicitly defended the call and praised its transparency. Second, the controversy surrounding European coordination deserves clarification. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen accused Finland and Norway of acting independently and failing to coordinate with other European countries. But Stubb and Støre have both stated that allies were informed in advance and received detailed briefings afterwards. New reporting from Finnish news agency STT supports their account. There is an important distinction between not being informed, not being consulted on the decision, and fundamentally disagreeing with that decision. Frederiksen's criticism increasingly appears to reflect a disagreement over whether direct contact with Putin should happen at all, rather than simply a lack of notification. Her initial framing therefore risks creating a misleading impression of an uncoordinated diplomatic operation. Political disagreement should not be confused with evidence that Finland and Norway acted behind their allies' backs. Third, what actually happened during the call? Finnish broadcaster Yle and news agency STT have challenged the Financial Times' account of Putin delivering a lengthy history lecture to passive Nordic listeners. Their sources describe a substantive exchange in which Stubb and Støre questioned Putin about the upcoming Abu Dhabi negotiations and stressed that prolonging the war would not diminish European support for Ukraine. Freedom of navigation in the Baltic Sea, keeping maritime routes open and Russia's shadow fleet were also discussed. Finnish-Russian bilateral relations reportedly were not discussed at all. The parties agreed to keep the communication channel available. Fourth, the risks were understood from the beginning. Finnish sources say criticism and possible Russian propaganda exploitation were anticipated. One source described the initiative as values-based realism, which sometimes requires accepting political risks and their consequences. This was a calculated decision, not an improvised attempt to normalise relations with Moscow. Zelenskyy has also reminded critics that Putin's diplomatic isolation effectively ended with Trump's Alaska summit in 2025. Other European governments have maintained contacts with Russia, sometimes without comparable transparency towards Ukraine. Ukraine requested diplomatic assistance, and Finland and Norway responded in coordination with Kyiv and Washington. Supporting Ukraine for as long as necessary must also mean supporting it in the ways Ukraine actually asks for. That includes diplomacy. Europe needs military strength, economic pressure and diplomatic influence. These are complementary instruments, not competing alternatives.

Norge og Finland kan ikke overlate til glade amerikanske amatører å føre samtalene med våre naboland.
Replying to @alexstubb
@Alexstubb and I had a good phone call with President @ZelenskyyUA, we discussed our call earlier today with President Putin. Norway and Finland will continue our support to Ukraine, and the efforts to ensure a just and lasting peace

Spoke with President of Finland @alexstubb and Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore following their call today with the Russian leader and as a continuation of our discussions in Oslo with representatives of America, Europe, and NATO. I am grateful for the detailed briefing and for their active support for our diplomacy and the peace efforts we are pursuing together with all our partners. Alex and Jonas made it clear to the Russian leader that real de-escalatory steps are needed regarding our energy and infrastructure. We discussed preparations for the trilateral meeting planned for November at the team level – Ukrainian, American, and Russian. Finland and Norway, as countries that border Russia, have a particular interest in sound and reliable security arrangements. We also discussed various formats for our engagement with partners in Europe that could be useful in further supporting diplomacy, our defense, and our shared security. There must be peace, de-escalation is needed, and Russia must stop dragging out the war. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine!

🚨Ole Gunnar Solskjær on Norway’s disallowed goal against England after Torbjørn Heggem’s finish: 🗣️ “Norway have been cheated. I don’t say that lightly, but I genuinely don’t understand how that goal has been disallowed. I watched the replay several times, and I don’t see enough contact from Erling Haaland on Anderson to justify cancelling the goal. Football is a physical game. Players are allowed to compete for position. If we’re going to disallow goals for every slight touch, then we’ll be ruling out goals every weekend. Haaland didn’t push him with excessive force, he didn’t pull him back and he certainly didn’t do enough to make Anderson fall the way he did. For me, Anderson goes down far too easily, and the referee has rewarded it. The most frustrating part is that Torbjørn Heggem did everything right. He stayed focused, finished the move brilliantly and should be celebrating one of the biggest goals of his career. Instead, the conversation is about a decision that, in my opinion, is simply wrong. VAR is supposed to correct clear and obvious mistakes, not create controversy where there wasn’t any. I don’t believe this was a clear foul. I believe it was two players competing physically, which is something we’ve seen in football for decades. These decisions change matches. At 2–1, England are under enormous pressure. Instead, Norway have a perfectly good goal taken away, and that is incredibly difficult to accept. If that’s enough contact to disallow a goal, then football is becoming impossible for centre-forwards. In my opinion, Norway deserved that goal, and they’ve every right to feel extremely disappointed.”

Kommer USA noen gang til å klare og etterforske og rettsforfølge denne totalt korrupte presidenten og hans regjering?
BREAKING: Hunter Biden SHREDS the media's double standard toward the Trump family in one devastating post — and EVERY word is documented. Hunter Biden just posted something on X that cuts right to the heart of America's broken media landscape — and it's IMPOSSIBLE to argue with. "So let me get this straight," he wrote. "Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom," referring to the comments the CNN anchor has made about disbelieving some of the claims in Jill Biden’s latest memoir. "Meanwhile, Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land." TRUE. Over 100,000 Albanians are in the streets. Anti-corruption prosecutors have opened an investigation. Flamingo habitats are being bulldozed. It BARELY registers on mainstream media. "Don Jr. married the daughter of Epstein's banker." Also TRUE. While Epstein survivors read their FBI abuse reports aloud outside the Justice Department, Pam Bondi refused to answer a even a SINGLE question about Trump and the Epstein files, and DOJ lawyers intervened to make sure she didn't. "A startup that Donald Jr. fund backs just got a record $620 million Pentagon loan." FACTCHECK: ALSO TRUE. While Trump's own financial disclosures show him trading stock in companies his administration then hands billion-dollar contracts to, Don Jr.'s SHADY investment connections to Pentagon contractors receive almost NO scrutiny from mainstream media. "Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5 billion in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted." Also TRUE, but that story got almost NO coverage. And then Hunter Biden delivered the punchline that lands like a sledgehammer: "And I know: 'But what about your paintings, Hunter?'" HUNTER IS 100% RIGHT: His art sales, laptop, and legal troubles consumed years of breathless media coverage. The Trump children's CORRUPT overseas business deals, foreign investments, Pentagon contracts, and connections to Jeffrey Epstein's associates a free pass. And while Jake Tapper attacks Jill Biden is being attacked for a book, Jared Kushner is bulldozing protected wetlands for a $4 billion resort while his father-in-law runs foreign policy, while raising BILLIONS from shady deals with foreign governments. There is simply NO comparison! Please like and share!

The President of the United States is asleep at his desk. Again. Behind him stand seven grown adults in expensive suits, and not one of them is doing anything about it. One is mid-sentence. Another is gazing sideways with the haunted look of a man whose pension depends on never acknowledging what he can see in his peripheral vision. The rest of the world is watching, and the rest of the world has noticed something. Americans are terrified of authority. That fear has settled over this administration like a fog, and it turns otherwise functional adults into warm furniture. Nobody moves. Nobody speaks. The paralysis is total. In any European parliament, in any boardroom from Oslo to Ljubljana, someone would have leaned over by now. Tapped a shoulder. Said, quietly but clearly, that perhaps this isn’t the moment. Somebody would have done something, because the alternative, pretending a sleeping man is running a meeting, would have been too absurd to sustain. Not here. Here, seven men have collectively decided that the correct professional response to the President losing consciousness in the Oval Office is to carry on as though he were a particularly demanding houseplant.

Jeff Landry: "Greenland needs a deal. Greenland could be exporting 2 million barrels of oil a day right now. Think about what kind of pressure that would relieve in the Strait of Hormuz, what kind of leverage that would give America ... it's time for the Danes to come to the table and let's get a deal done"

🚨🚨The Trump Crime Family is more corrupt than the totality of All Previous Organized Crime Families Combined in the history of the United States. ——————————————— I spent thirty (30 years investigating Major Organized Crime Families & Gangs and without a doubt, Donald Trump has committed more crimes against the United States of America and its citizens than all Organized Crime Syndicates. TRUMP is directly responsible for the theft of billions of dollars and the systematic destruction of our economy, the rule of law and our democracy. TRUMP must be Impeached and Removed from office by the U.S. Congress this year. Both Democrats & Republicans must join together to save our nation.

REP. BACON: We're pulling an armor brigade out of Poland. This is foolish, and it sends a terrible message to Russia and to our allies. Poland was blindsided. This is an embarrassment to our country, the way this is being handled. This is a slap in the face to our NATO allies.

Ukraine and Norway will jointly produce mid-strike drones. Thank you, Norway! 🇳🇴🇺🇦 Several thousand drones of this type, designed to engage targets in the enemy's immediate rear at ranges of 50-200 km, are planned to be manufactured in Norway, and by this summer, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are expected to receive them. The project will be funded by the Norwegian side. Overall, Norway plans to allocate over $1.5 billion this year for the purchase of Ukrainian-made weapons for the Ukrainian military.
