Me and my wife paid 2.6 million rupees in taxes after all our income was already taxed at source. Both our accounts have almost no balance now. There is no way to save for retirement now because whatever we try to save disappears in taxes. We are in a country where you are forced to rent because there is no concept of mortgage. And if you start a business it gets no support from a bank and gets taxed to death too.
You can borrow less for stupid things like the half a billion dollar loan we just took from ADB for coming up with a pension plan. There are hyper talented Pakistanis globally who could do that probono for you. You are essentially paying for knowledge orchestration and powerpoints. It's ridiculous.
Now imagine putting that same money to mapping and easing the journey of middle class aspirants. Mark it for ease of doing business. For SME credit. Or scaling business growth. For enabling reasonable mortgages and building an indigenous low cost housing value chain.
We may be bankrupt as a nation but we don't have to be bankrupt intellectually. You can move the pieces you have better on the board you inherited. Much better.
! @SpaceXSI 3rd party Oauth MCP connectors don't seem to work.
I added the @FinHisaab remote MCP server mcp.finhisaab.com/mcp in Grok bot, which uses OAuth. Grok @bot shows it as connected (green) without ever running the OAuth sign-in. Every tool call fails with 'requires authentication', no sign-in page ever opened, and a forced re-auth didn't help.

⚠️ Confirmed: Network data show a major disruption to internet connectivity in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, #Pakistan, as President Zardari imposes emergency rule, suspending the provincial government led by jailed former PM Imran Khan's PTI amid protests demanding his release
Light and radio are how we usually imagine aliens talking to us, but over galactic distances they get absorbed by dust, scattered by gas, and drowned out by stars. Two signals pass through almost everything, and we can already detect both:
1. Neutrino beams. IceCube, the work behind this year's prize, catches neutrinos arriving from deep space, alongside KM3NeT and Super-Kamiokande. In 2012 Fermilab sent the word "neutrino" through 240 m of rock using a beam.
2. Gravitational waves. They spread out in every direction and are barely affected by matter. LIGO made the first detection in 2015 and won the 2017 Nobel, and Virgo and KAGRA now listen too. What we can't do yet is make waves strong enough to carry a message.
BREAKING NEWS
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2026 #NobelPrize in Physics to Francis Halzen “for decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and the discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin.”
Electricity production is the best single proxy for the strength of a large-scale economy — and for a civilization's level of technological advancement.
That's the core logic of the Kardashev scale. It ranks civilizations purely by the power they can harness:
- Type I: planetary energy budget (~10¹⁶ W)
- Type II: a star's full output
- Type III: a galaxy
Humanity is currently ~Type 0.73 (~2 × 10¹³ W of primary energy). Same physical constraint, different scale.
! @PTAofficialpk promoting VoWiFi is useful, but it rings hollow when major ISPs like Cybernet/StormFiber have been blocking it to demand interconnection fees from mobile operators. Consumers already pay both sides. Where's the net neutrality enforcement? armujahid.me/blog/net-neutra…
Stay connected even where mobile signals are weak! Enable Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi) in your phone settings and enjoy calls over Wi-Fi, where supported by your device and mobile operator.

Ben Affleck reveals he writes Python, understands convolutional neural networks, worked extensively with GPUs, and used his celebrity status to get private looks at Google and OpenAI’s video models
“I’ve always been kind of into computers since I was young. Then, when film started to move from analog film to digital, I became more interested in that aspect of it. The visual-effects workflow for many years has included machine learning, so I can write pretty shitty Python scripts and stuff like that.
“With convolutional neural networks, which were the precursors to what the transformer can do, which is much more computation simultaneously, you would do things like look at what’s called a tensor. That’s the numerical translation of a visual image in numbers, like the batch number, the frame number and the red, green and blue values of each pixel in each frame. It’s just that simple. That numeric is called a tensor.
“You’d use a convolutional neural network to identify patterns that reveal what’s called edge detection or feature extraction, which is identifying patterns well enough to know, this is where the window ledge is, so we can more easily take the green-screen image out and replace it with something.
“That was familiar to me early on because, prior to Artists Equity, I had a small visual-effects company. I’ve worked with GPUs a lot too. The visual-effects guys said, ‘Hey, you should see. There are a couple: Google and this other company, OpenAI, are doing really interesting stuff with transformers in video.’
“I’ve learned that I can actually just call up and go, ‘Hey, it’s Ben Affleck. Can I come see what you’re doing?’ Sometimes people say yes, to my astonishment.”

Introducing ChatGPT for Dishwashing
GPT-6 achieves state-of-the-art results on dishwashing benchmarks for long-running jobs and difficult stains.
The Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem is a $1 million challenge about whether the equations describing fluid motion can break down. In this video, I accidentally found a counter-example while trying to optimize my dishwasher. But in reality, OpenAI used 10,000 AI agents to find a proof in 88 hours: openai.com/index/navier-stok…

! @FBRSpokesperson The EU already does this through DAC7, a directive that requires digital platforms to collect, verify, and report seller earnings and identity details to national tax authorities. Google and the other big platforms already comply.
FBR could ask them for the same kind of direct integration:
Platforms would then:
1) Collect a tax ID from each Pakistani user (their CNIC).
2) Report each user's earnings and payout account to FBR every year
Thank you @iamlaeeqahmad for raising this constructively. Rs195 per 1,000 views is a benchmark, not a final verdict. Where a creator's actual earnings are lower, the rules allow them to place evidence such as platform payout statements and bank receipts before the Commissioner and be assessed on that basis.
@TalatHussain12
Yeah. I don't get why they tax assumed revenue instead of actual profits or income. Revenue can look high even when someone is losing money. The BusCaro CEO made the same point on a podcast about the Minimum Tax on Turnover, which taxes revenue rather than profits and makes it much harder for startups to survive in Pakistan.
Myth: Pakistani creators with a million views are rich.
Our finance channel, last 28 days:
846K views → Rs89K revenue
FBR assumes Rs195 per 1,000 views → Rs165K
We'll pay tax on Rs76K we never earned.
Tax actual income. YouTube Analytics already has the data. #FBR
Running Grok Bot across two Slack workspaces: one Cursor Slack listener fires, the other never wakes. Multi-workspace Slack still isn’t supported.
@spacexai — would love multi-workspace Slack events for Grok Bot routines.
