Preventing extinction is not enough. Threatened species also need support to recover. Leonardo DiCaprio has highlighted two initiatives announced at COP17. Led by Armenia and Colombia, 17 countries have joined the Coalition of Action to Recover Endangered Species (CARES) to accelerate efforts to prevent extinctions and support measurable species recovery. Meanwhile, nine philanthropic funders and organizations, including Re:wild, have formed the Species Recovery Alliance, aligning more than $500 million over five years to support species recovery worldwide. Both initiatives share a common goal: helping the world’s most threatened species recover. #COP17Armenia #BiodiversityAction #ForAction
