So proud of our incredible SLPs who led today’s round-table trainings! Each 30-minute session was packed with practical ideas, collaboration, and inspiration. Peer-led PD is powerful when it’s by SLPs, for SLPs. #risddreambig #SLPGreatness

Most days, this SLP can't just wave a magic wand and correct that R sound.... But today is not one of those days. 😜🪄 #speechtherapyismagic #risddreambig #bibbitybobbityboo @RichardsonISD @RISDSLPs @JessHarbenElem

Our very own @mrsashleyslp just won RISD’s SSS department’s very first EPIC Award! She is the epitome of what it means to be on a team both at @JessHarbenElem and as an RISD SLP. Her work with her centralized classrooms on incorporating CORE and AAC is EPIC!

It’s #TalkAboutSpeechTuesday! What does an SLP practicing with excellence look like? Teaching speech/language skills within context vs. isolation to promote generalization to other environments outside of the therapy room! We love collaboration with teachers for this reason!

On this #TalkAboutSpeechTuesday @RichardsonISD SLPs spent time digging into pragmatic language skills in order to provide the best knowledge and explanation of skills when evaluating students. #RISDBeTheOne

trialing out some aac with this friend today! I would call it a success & if you could see his smile I think you would agree! #RISDBeTheOne #RISDSLP #AAC

#TalkAboutSpeechTuesday! DYK SLPs have to document progress quarterly and indicate if it has been reasonable? If it hasn’t, they must remain adaptable and try other methods to elicit the skills and ensure progress. This requires great breadth of knowledge in speech and language!

K-2 Speech friends @nherisd did a great job “filming good character,” by dressing as story book characters today for Red Ribbon Week.
We love using books in Speech Therapy to work on our communication skills.
