unironically true, you dont date your friends, you date the acquaintances of your friends

You don't need "short-term dating skills." You need a decently-sized, mixed-gender social group that doesn't revolve around just one person, place, or interest, and gathers in person regularly.

realistically this is my problem but also I am far too stubborn to learn "short-term dating skills." I am not a dancing bear. I am not going to read a book about how to seduce. I do not "practice game," I will not "neg." I am EARNEST. and if that doesn't work, I die ALONE.
My boyfriend thinks the big problem with modern dating is that men used to merely have to demonstrate solid long-term potential to be considered.
Now, a guy can't get his foot in the door without having short-term dating skills.
He's not complaining, mind you. He purposely developed those short-term dating skills & they worked on me 😂
But he has a great point: there are men who are AMAZING long-term options who aren't even noticed by women because they never developed the traits that make a woman notice them immediately!

We obviously won’t keep the same social contract in a world of ASI; we will get a much worse one.
The social contract we have today was premised on the state/ruling class’s need for lots of human beings to make stuff and to shoot guns.
This allowed the human beings who supplied these needs to extract concessions over time, like rights to free speech and universal suffrage.
But if robots can make all the things and shoot all the guns, then there is simply no basis upon which the vast majority of human beings can negotiate concessions from the ruling class; we will cease to have any kind of leverage at all. At best, this terminates in a kind of permanent techno-feudalism, an infinite future of subjugation under the boot of successive generations of Peter Thiels. At worst, it terminates in a (possibly very slow) genocide of the vast majority of people on earth, because the people who own the robots and the machine intelligences will have no reason to distribute any of the machines’ output to the vast majority of people who lack such ownership stakes.
Arguably, our main hope for “survival” in such a future is that the ruling class might have, in this scenario, one final need: a need for subjects to rule over.
The psychological need for adoration, for power, for social inferiors. The last thing that we’ll have with which to buy our bread will be supplication to the egos of people like Elon Musk. A future of laughing at a cringe trillionaire’s bad jokes to earn your UBI—more or less directly.

This imagines a world where:
- models can be controlled by elites
- humans have no way to organize
Economic utility is only one source of power.
Why would we keep the same social contract when Intelligence is everywhere? Robotics everywhere?
It wont be an instant transition.

because its tribalistic and retarded
humans are meat computers, oh, how sad is that 😢
people need to get over thinking that humans are innately special or have 'souls' or their creativity cannot be replicated. yes humans are special, relative to one another, but ppl stretch it
