Looking for folks who use ChatGPT for shopping / physical product research & discovery. If that’s you, DM me — I’d love to chat for quick user research!
The @49ers have had the same strength and conditioning coach since 2019...🤔
I’ll always be proud of being a Harker alum. High density of nerds, they had the foresight to offer a neural nets class back in 2009 that now I’m very glad I took
Go eagles!!! 🦅
Almost five years after starting Rye, I’m excited to share that we’re joining Jolly!
We started Rye in 2021 with a pretty ambitious idea: make commerce on the internet programmable. Give developers a set of APIs that could connect any experience to any product and actually complete the transaction.
The five years since have been a crazy journey. We built a lot, changed direction a lot, worked with companies ranging from tiny startups to some of the largest companies in the world, and had an incredible team figure out how to build things that, at the time, mostly didn’t exist.
If you’ve followed Rye recently, you’ve probably noticed I’ve been quieter publicly. For the last few months, a lot of my time has gone into figuring out what the right next leg looks like for Rye and for the technology we’ve spent years building.
Agentic commerce is going to be a huge part of how people buy things. The last year for us has been a series of learnings on where that usage is and where it will be moving forward.
What's been clear is that the true 10X here is applying this technology to industries that are already solving problems for people at scale. We’ve spent a lot of the last year in rewards and loyalty, and Jolly is probably the best example of why. They already support hundreds of thousands of frontline workers through their platform. Adding what we built at Rye gives them a completely new set of ways to turn those rewards and incentives into things people actually want and can use.
That’s what got me excited about working with Dean and the Jolly team. They’re an amazing team, move incredibly fast, and already have the scale. Rye gives them a full commerce layer to build off of and Jolly gives our technology a place where it can actually reach a lot of people.
Some of the Rye team will be joining Jolly, and I’m excited to see them take what we built and supercharge it from here.
After almost five years building Rye, I’m going to take a little time before figuring out what I want to build next (with how exciting it is to build right now, I doubt that break will last long :P).
There are far too many people to thank in one post: every person who chose to join our crazy company, our customers who trusted a startup to power important parts of their businesses, our investors who backed us, and all of the friends and founders who helped us through every version of the company.
Building Rye has been one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m incredibly proud of the team, what we built, and that a big part of that work gets to keep growing from here.
Let’s go!
Today, we’re excited to share that Rye is joining Jolly.
We started Rye almost five years ago with a simple idea: commerce on the internet should be programmable. Developers should be able to connect their users to products from anywhere and build purchasing directly into whatever experience they were creating.
Since then, Rye has powered millions of commerce transactions across marketplaces, rewards programs, gifting platforms, AI applications, and entirely new shopping experiences.
Over the past year, we’ve seen agentic commerce move from an idea into something increasingly real. Some of the most exciting applications are the ones where this technology touches real-world behavior: people earning rewards, redeeming benefits, receiving incentives, and purchasing things they actually want.
That’s also where we’ve spent more and more of our time, and it’s a big reason why we’re so excited to be joining Jolly.
We’ve worked closely with Dean and the Jolly team and have been incredibly impressed by the company they’re building, their growth, and the way they think about the connection between incentives and commerce.
As part of this next chapter, members of the Rye team will be joining Jolly and the technology we’ve spent years building will become part of a much larger platform.
To everyone who built with us, worked with us, invested in us, and believed in what we were building: thank you.
We’re incredibly excited for this next leg and for what Rye + Jolly can build together.

I've been pretty disappointed with Instinct tbh. Calendar checks and reminders are primaries for an AI assistant, how do you get these wrong?
The reminder miss I get if compute is constrained, but the calendar miss seems like it's using a model from 2022.
K3 is insane. Every new model release, I see how far it can go in building a polytopia clone (which is actually pretty difficult between UI/UX, animations, and most importantly getting game logic right).
There are definitely some bugs, but ~12 hours of non-stop k3 swarm, it one-shot it: terratribes.kimi.page
🤯 wtf
Trust is the gate for agentic commerce — and one of the biggest blockers sits after the purchase: if an agent buys for me, can I send it back, and will the refund come?
Today, that's programmatic. Introducing the Returns API.
A return is one call. Rye files it with the merchant, hands the shopper a prepaid label when one's needed, and tracks the refund through to settlement. Poll one endpoint for a typed status, a timeline, and the exact refund total.
No merchant integration. No label generation. No reconciliation.
Shopify + whole-order returns first. Partial returns, webhooks, and more platforms next.

Introducing Chat tab: Make purchases immediately by talking to an AI agent in Allowance Chat.
You can always still connect via CLI or MCP if you want to connect @useallowance to Codex, OpenClaw or your favorite desktop agent.
Skip the fric, use Allowance.

Every agent purchase is an attribution question.
Who gets paid when the agent closes?
$13B affiliate industry runs on signals agents don't generate: cookies, clicks, last-touch.
The tracking signal goes dark right when the order goes through.

Today the @SolanaFndn is launching Pay.sh — AI agents can discover, access, and pay for any API on the internet. Per request. Settled in Solana stablecoins.
Rye is a launch partner.
Pay.sh handles discovery, identity, and billing. Rye handles checkout execution. Agents find the Universal Checkout API, pay for the call, and complete a real purchase across 15,000+ merchants — end-to-end in one workflow.

Agents can now buy real-world goods with @agentcashdev + @rye (powered by x402):
→ Access products across 15,000+ merchants
→ No API key required
From intent to delivered order, end to end.
75M+ x402 transactions in the last 30 days. Almost none for physical products.
Today, that changes. We're partnering with @agentcashdev to bring native x402 payments to physical commerce. Their MCP wallet is now the preferred x402 client on Rye's Universal Checkout API.
One install. One wallet. Buy across 15,000+ merchant sites. USDC on Base, Solana, and Tempo, signed over HTTP. No card vault. No payment provider account.
x402.rye.com is live in production today.
AgentCash is the client. Rye is the checkout. x402 is the rail.

So excited for this launch! We've been seeing an ever-growing usage of agents starting to use Rye for checkout.
x402 + AgentCash's infra makes it dead simple for agents to setup a wallet + purchase _physical_ products.

Merchant fraud systems can't tell the difference between a scalper bot and a customer's AI agent. The agents that make it through are the ones carrying verified credentials.
We're partnering with @trySkyfire. Their Know Your Agent (KYA) protocol is now the identity layer underneath Rye's Universal Checkout API. One SDK. Verified identity at the merchant edge. Both layers in production today.

The $13B affiliate industry runs on cookies, clicks, and last-touch attribution.
AI agents bypass that entire chain. No affiliate link followed. No cookie dropped. No referral header captured.
The tracking infrastructure doesn't fire. But what replaces it could be radically better — deterministic, logged, auditable.
New post breaking it all down.

Introducing the newest (and oldest) Agentic Commerce Protocol.
Today we're announcing a universal, open protocol for agentic commerce.
200M+ endpoints. 30 years in production. Trillions in annual volume. Every merchant, every country, every currency. No integration required. Zero.
The protocol is the World Wide Web.
