Yesterday, I was interrogated by the Sri Lanka Police Counter Terrorism Investigation Division (CTID) 6 hours and 45 minutes.
The questioning covered my journalism and photography work, Social media’s activities, financial activities, phone records, and overseas visits.
I am deeply grateful for the unwavering solidarity, support, and love I have received. Your encouragement strengthens my resolve to continue fact-based reporting and to carry forward my work in the days ahead.

A demonstration was held today in front of the Mullaitivu District Secretariat, urging that the #Rohingya #refugees who sought asylum in the Mullaitivu seas not be deported to their home country and calling on Sri Lanka to uphold international human rights laws. This protest was organized by the North-East Coordinating Committee.

Today marks 24 years since human rights lawyer and leading Tamil politician Kumar Ponnambalam was shot dead in the Sri Lankan capital, in broad daylight.
Ponnambalam, the former leader of the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC), was killed in Colombo by unidentified gunmen on January 5th, 2000, whilst in his car on Ramakrishna Lane, in Wellawetta. The murder came a few days after he had written an open letter to then president Chandrika Kumaratunga, condemning her anti-Tamil policies.
He was renowned for his pro bono work in defending Tamil and Sinhala youths detained under Sri Lanka's notorious Prevention of Terrorism Act and had filed reports in important human rights cases that incriminated the Chandrika government, including the gang rape and murder of Tamil student, Krishanthi Kumaraswamy and mass graves in Chemmani.
According to The Sunday Leader, Ponnambalam's killing was organised by Baddegana Sanjeewa, a member of Kumaratunga’s Presidential Security Division. The newspaper stated that she also tried to protect Ponnambalam's killers after the assassination. The murder weapon reportedly belonged to Mahendra Ratwatte, Kumaratunga's second cousin and son of a deputy defence minister Anuruddha Ratwatte
To this day no one, including Kumaratunga, has been held accountable for the murder.

The people attacking or making fun of 17-year-old Gus Walz just don’t understand what JOY and LOVE are all about. They wish they had someone who cared as much about them as Gus does his dad.
Gus has a non verbal learning disability. He is neurodivergent and has ADHD. He is proud of his father. Now shut up already.
I’m glad to see people on both sides of the aisle pushing back on the filth that’s out there.
Treat people as if they are your own kids.

USA has 2 games left in the Super 8s vs West Indies & England. A month ago, USA getting a chance to face, let alone beat, either side was inconceivable for many fans. After their performances vs Pakistan, India & South Africa, a USA win in Barbados doesn't feel so farfetched.
USA beat Pakistan without Corey Anderson facing a single ball. They made India & South Africa sweat even though captain Monank Patel was out injured and despite meager contributions from their best players. Imagine what USA can do when everyone is firing. dreamcricket.com/articles/vi…
