Big 'well done' to everyone involved in the call to pick Naman out of nowhere. He's got all the goods for this role apart from whatever he gives otherwise in the field.

I mean absolutely no disrespect to any of the fine players performing in the Ranji Trophy but there really needs to be a qualification in statistics for India's pre-eminent domestic competition: Pre-Lodha and Post-Lodha. Years from now when someone looks at just the numbers it will be almost impossible to discern their true value. #cricket #Indiancricket #RanjiTrophy

The more I read about Dr. Manmohan's tenure, the more my mind blown. Back then zero interest in politics except for occasional mocking Congress/MMS because of ignorance. But now that I read about it, the man delivered "na bhuto na bhavishyati" (never before, never again) performance on economy, governance, job creation etc. Not just good, exceptional. Not just w.r.t past Indian performance but the entire world. PS: Average on national security, but that is because of world atmosphere as well, many terrorist attacks happened world wide in the first decade of this century. Not to mention half of those in India were done by Hindutva terrorists. Main national security mistake (crime) was not holding Ranga Billa accountable.
Just to give people some idea. Stock market grew 5x under Dr MMS. FIVE times. In 10 years. 1 Rs became 5 Rs. And Indian stock market outperformed almost the entire world. Under Modi not even 3x returns in 12 years. And absolutely zero to negative returns last 3 years. And worse anticipated in future. This is not politically relevant because 90% Indians have NO savings.

What a country we have become! A big shout-out to all the young lawyers who ensure the release of all detainees every evening! This fight goes on because we do not fight it alone. Journalists reporting the truth despite unlawful repression, lawyers holding the police to the law, lakhs and lakhs of first-time protesters fighting tooth and nail, giving actual blood to keep democracy alive.

Yesterday, the nation's young came out in Delhi to peacefully protest. They came with love in their hearts, not hatred or anger. They were beaten, both by cops and BJP goons. This is not the India we want. Tomorrow, we will march to the Supreme Court as Indians, united beyond party, gender, caste, community and state. Youth, all opposition parties, civil society groups, all those who believe in democracy and stand by the Constitution of India, will walk with us. We will submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice on behalf of the nation, demanding an end to vote chori, halting of SIR and the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Ajit Doval and Mohan Bhagwat cannot silence India's voice. These cowards cannot intimidate us. They will have to step aside. We will march together, with love, brotherhood and patriotism. Daro mat. Tomorrow, all of India will march to the Supreme Court. #ChaloDilli

#India: We are concerned by reports of mass detentions of demonstrators, protest leaders, members of civil society organisations, lawyers and journalists, before and during today’s large-scale demonstrations in Delhi. We call on the authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and fulfilled. ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

To my generation, There comes a moment in the life of every generation when it must choose between comfort and conscience. For us, that moment has come again. In July, we stepped out onto the streets and a union minister resigned. We have done this before. In 1942, the British arrested the leaders before dawn, believing a movement dies when its leaders are taken. It did not. The young carried it forward and ended the Raj. Today, Modi-Shah's playbook is the same: close the roads, call it illegal, detain people before they speak. So our answer will be the same as the young of 1942. If any of us is stopped tomorrow, the one standing beside us carries it on. If that one is stopped, the next does. This movement belongs to every one of us. Years from now, someone will ask what we did on the 10th of October, when the trains stopped, the roads were sealed and a nation was told to stay silent. Let our answer be one we are proud to give. See you tomorrow. Jantar Mantar 2.0 continues.

If you are Indian Muslim, JAIL is the punishment. If you are a FOREIGNER working against INDIA, law will find a way to send you home. "One Country, Two Separate Laws" An Indian citizen languishes in jail for years. No chargesheet in time. No trial. No bail. His crime might be a Facebook post or a protest. The system forgets him inside Tihar and UAPA becomes a tool to keep him inside without proof. And then look at the Myanmar Drone Case. US national Matthew VanDyke and 6 Ukrainian nationals - Petro Hurba, Taras Slyviak and others - arrested by NIA in March for illegally entering Mizoram, crossing into Myanmar, supplying drones, weapons and training ethnic armed groups for drone warfare. NIA itself said they were operating as mercenaries, booked under UAPA. What happened? Chargesheet filed with only Immigration and Foreigners Act, no UAPA. Granted default bail in 6 months. Fine of 5.5 lakhs to FRRO and they are discharged. And yesterday, Rouse Avenue Court allows all seven to fly back to US and Ukraine for a month to meet their families, passports returned. Constitutional liberty to travel abroad, the court said. So an Indian without a chargesheet can't get bail for years, but foreign nationals accused of running a drone-training camp against India's security interests get bail, discharge, and a paid vacation home in 6 months.

The video from Jamui, Bihar is deeply disturbing. Two Class 10 students were stopped on a road. Harassed. Humiliated. Molested. A young girl, hands folded, begged to be let go while goons groped her and dragged her away. Who gave these men the right to behave like this? This is not "culture." It is patriarchy: the belief that any man can police a girl's body, her movement, her choices. When control is mistaken for culture, and such attitudes are normalised by Andhbhakts, mobs start believing they are the law. Every individual in that video must be identified and prosecuted under POCSO, and justice must be swift. And if the incident happened on September 19th, why are the culprits not behind bars yet? And the Bihar government must answer why a girl is not safe on a public road at 7 pm?

It’s not a discussion worth having, to be honest. Unless your idea of evaluation is your personal memories and vague phrases like “clutch player”.
