today we’re shipping gpt-6 and intelligent ui to everyone!
intelligent ui is a bet on model intelligence. we’re letting gpt-6 fill the canvas with high utility visual and interactive components. it’s a pretty big change to chatgpt! we had to craft the right tools for gpt-6 to be able to produce interfaces that are token efficient, stream in instantly, match our design language, and are expressive enough for anything you might talk to chatgpt about.

OpenAI's New Agent Stack: Superhuman Computer Use, Dots, Decisions API, UltraFast, & the AI Cloud latent.space/p/devday-2026
@OpenAI’s @AriX and @nikunjhanda explain why Computer Use is already becoming faster than humans at real-world tasks, how Dots gives agents their own cloud computers, why better models can now debug and recover from failures, how Decisions API went from idea to product in weeks, and why async tools, UltraFast inference, caching, compaction, and higher-level agent primitives are turning OpenAI’s API into an AI-native cloud.
Your pet has a job now.
Pets help you keep track of your chats while you’re away from the desktop app. Now, you can start a new chat right from your pet, too.
Not a pet person? Meet Mini: the same shortcuts and updates, taking up less space on your screen.
Pick your pet—or go Mini—in the ChatGPT desktop app settings.

I wrote about the state of AI, why I’m concerned about the next few years, and the choices we need to make to keep the future in humanity’s hands.

The model can finish Microsoft Excel World Championship cases with pure computer use ~4x faster than human competitors! In this case from the 2023 competition, Astra got a perfect score in under 5 minutes, whereas no human finished even with 30 minutes.

Replying to @BrookeaJoseph
I also got to work on benchmarking Astra to human excel champs w/ @hansonwng !! Astra is ~3x faster than the best human at navigating excel 😎

All of the demos in this video were recorded in real-time with Astra ⭐️ It’s been so much fun making our models faster and safer at CUA with @BrookeaJoseph @fjord41 @magusnn @msieb1 @yihengxu_ @yilongqin @.alz @realtsmc @tejalpatwardhan @mckbrando @AriX and so many others!
With Astra, ChatGPT is nearly 2x faster at computer use than before.
In addition to the amazing new model, we’ve optimized the harness to make computer use run much faster.
These optimizations work in existing models too, so tasks are sped up by ~60% in GPT-5.6 Sol. Try it!
We’re getting close to a world where computer use is faster at completing tasks than humans. This is going to enable amazing new user experiences where people are freed up to focus on higher-level thinking and creativity!
Today’s changes enable computer use to start quicker, use fewer output tokens, and complete tasks in fewer turns, no matter which model you use.
Huge shout-out to @gregoryyoung_, Aaron Levine, @justin_rushing, @JamesZmSun, @hansonwng, and @magusnn for making this happen!
It was so fun to help with the filming of this ad!
Felt surreal to see all of it working for real on the big screen, like witnessing a new form of human-computer interaction coming together in real time.
Also a real privilege to get to work with @danielfradin, the creative genius behind the video.

approx 1 year ago @SoftwareAppsInc we discussed the optimal desk configuration

We've added native integration with iMessage, so ChatGPT can now send & read messages for you!
It can also analyze your messages! It's really fun to get insights about who you talk to, and what you talk to people about.
We've gotten a lot of great questions on privacy implications of Computer History.
Here's a few things we've done to build a super powerful feature while keeping things private.
First off, you can review all of your Computer History in the timeline view:
Lots more information available in the documentation here: learn.chatgpt.com/docs/custo…
For example, note that the event logs from your computer are not retained by OpenAI, and are not used for training.
Huge shout-out to @jgarnham, @priyashah_, and @thejaymoon for building this awesome feature and being so thoughtful about the safety and privacy implications!
