3 months ago, I graduated from Waterloo engineering. Instead of taking a job, I convinced 2 friends to quit their jobs and move to SF to bootstrap a robotics startup. Since then we've: - Built an autonomous delivery robot that pushes elevator buttons - Tested in condos & hotels - Raised our first check from Founders Inc. Now, we’re demoing our robots at 8 of the tallest residential buildings in SF Comment ELLY if you want a delivery robot in your building

Can JEV predict when a robot is about to knock over a glass? I tested it with randomized pushes in MuJoCo. Before the glass tipped, JEV caught 65 of 68 upcoming falls, but also predicted 291 falls that never happened. It spotted the danger, but struggled to tell when things would be fine. Here’s one it got wrong. 🍷

3 years ago, I put β€œaspiring rockstar” in my bio, kind of as a joke, but deep down I knew I always wanted to create music. Since then, I’ve spent the past few years practicing guitar every day, taking music theory in college, and teaching myself how to record and mix music in Logic Pro. This year, between moving to LA and traveling frequently to London for work, I found myself surrounded by the music that inspired me in the first place, and decided it was finally time to create something of my own. So I wrote, recorded, and produced my first song. β€œLouder Than a Jet” is out now 🎸🀘 Maybe it’s finally time to take β€œaspiring” out of my bio. ariguitari.com/louder-than-a…

The humanoid can now load a plate into the dishwasher in a physics simulation of my own kitchen. Programmed arm motion, contact-based grasp, and an invisible support keeping the robot upright. Balance is next.

My roommate told me to wash the dishes. So I asked a coding agent to build a MuJoCo simulation of my kitchen to train a humanoid to do it.

This is going to be a lot more common with Astra making the PCBs

Stop building for the market. Start building for yourself. The best projects come from obsession not obligation. Tinkerers and hobbyists who build what they want are the ones that change things. Blueprint is for builders who do things their way. blueprint.am

The best concerts aren’t the big artists. They’re the underground bands you discover before everyone else. The problem: they’re nearly impossible to find. So I built hppn.ing A live music discovery engine for underground artists performing near you. Try it and tell me what sucks.
