I knew the risks of speaking up to Matt were there, and I’ve stayed silent on account of not wanting to get Taco in trouble before WordCamp Asia. But honestly, it sucks and it does have a real impact.
Less than two weeks before @WordCampAsia, Matt banned my colleague @jdevalk from the event, and @MyProgressPlan, from sponsoring it.
I hoped it would pass, until we had a call last week. Nothing is going to change. So here I am, breaking the silence.

The reason I’ve been absent and silent in the WP community is simple: Fear. I am afraid to speak. Which begs the question, why am I even in a community that makes me feel this way?

☕️☕️☕️Achievement unlocked: Been consistently brewing my tastiest espressos for the past 2 weeks every morning, using an old Gaggia-classic machine that I modified, a bottomless portafilter, and a Lelit grinder. Relatively cheap, old equipment, but spent days finetuning it 🤘
Yep, that happened… train routes were canceled in Greece because the train tracks got warped due to the extreme heat 🥵

Cloudflare has launched a new feature to block AI bots, scrapers, and crawlers with a single click, and it's free. As AI crawlers continue to swallow up web content, this tool helps protect your content from being used without consent. Many AI crawlers ignore robots txt exclusions or spoof their user agents.
Up until now, the robots.txt file has been fairly reliable in helping control bots, but data shows that AI bots don't seem to honor that system.
