miHoYo hiring in California. Kuro hiring in Guangzhou, and so much more. Thousands of job openings in gaming right now worldwide. So many of them come from Chinese companies. Do you see what is happening? Do you see where the industry is heading? (No, it's not about low pay!)

Anyone who thinks DLSS 5 improves a video game should be banned entirely from playing games. It’s seriously pathetic people are trying to hype it up when it’s blatantly fucking hideous.

The thing about this stuff is devs could've made the game look like this if they wanted. they could setup the lights like that, made everyone's skin super oily and wrinkly if that was desired. this reminds me more of a deep fried HDR jpg than anything to do with rendering
RIP to the Remasters industry. DLSS 5 makes every game look much better than any remastered game ever

The “sculpted reference” comparison seems misleading. A sculpt/render reference is normally shown under controlled, fixed presentation lighting designed to make the facial forms readable. A game character has to work under the actual scene lighting, shadows, materials and exposure. And this is CryEngine 5. the it has a perfectly capable real-time lighting/shadowing pipeline. We don't need to compare the face to some idealized sculpt render; compare it to the lighting information already present in the game frame. If that dark region isn't helmet shadow, that actually makes the discrepancy more obvious. There is visible illumination on the helmet, parts of the face and the shoulder on that same side. “The normals are fucked” can explain an incorrect surface response, but then you're acknowledging that the resulting facial shading is incorrect and not demonstrating that DLSS reconstructed it correctly. That's the actual criticism: not “make it look like the sculpt,” but keep the reconstructed face coherent with the lighting of the scene it's standing in.
Some people have literally gone crazy. On the left is a head messed up by the game engine’s very limited lighting system, which can’t properly render shadows, skin texture, and the detail of normal maps. On the right is THE SAME MODEL WITHOUT ANY GEOMETRY CHANGES, which looks exactly like a render from ZBrush—where a 3D artist modeled it—only with better lighting, shadows, skin texture, hair, and therefore DETAILS. Thanks to neural network rendering in DLSS5. Some random nutcase on the internet: THIS IS AI SLOP! I WANT THE ORIGINAL ARTISTIC VISION! The head models were 3D scanned (using photogrammetry) from real people and then polished by artists. I am the creative director of the game. This is our original artistic vision and looks like static renders of the models from Zbrush when we made them. Or like real @thisistommckay :) Having no shadows from helmets on faces and fucked up normal map rendering WAS NOT OUR ORIGINAL ARTISTIC VISION. People are crazy.

Original Halo: 185 people. Full game. Halo Remake: 2,183 people. Campaign only. You said it isn’t just HR, it’s also the invisible layers. Producers, managers, leads of leads, people who are supposed to support the makers but instead add meetings and dilute ownership. It doesn’t have to be this way. youtube.com/watch?v=s5qKN2Yx…

MW4 Beta summary Maps too small Guns all feel the same Movement is clunky but tolerable UAV spam Meta is just holding a power position Broken shotgun and DMR one shot Mera is incredibly frustrating and annoying Poorly optimized on PC Aim assist still annoying

I’ve noticed the people who LOVE MW4 are lower skill players who have trouble hitting shots so the tuned down movement, STRONG aim assist, and lightnight fast ttk + open maps let them seem somewhat okay at the game. People who can aim don’t love it.

Devs nerfed aim assist in MW4 by .01 percent to say they nerfed aim assist. Shit is still aimbot.

So now with MW4... Tactical Sprint removed ✅ Aim Assist nerfed ✅ Movement updated ✅ Spawns being fixed ✅ There's just two more thing left... SBMM and disbanding lobbies.

My thoughts on the MW4 Beta so far: • Frangible bullets gotta go • Aim assist is free aim bot • Snipers need faster ADS & fire rate • Spawns are goofy • TTK needs to be decreased

There are numerous ways to tune aim assist to not have it do unhumanly things or make adjustments that help balance it at the higher levels while making the changes not very noticeable to the 95% casual player base. You’re just a pussy for not entertaining that argument

Might be the most diabolical aim assist we’ve ever had in a cross-platform video game to date. Anyone defending this is either braindead or ignorant. Nerfing aim assist not only helps balance inputs, but also allows better skill expression between all controller players.

The Call of Duty casual community asked for MORE aim assist… and apparently they got it. 💀 Modern Warfare 4 aim assist is buffed to the absolute MAX this video shows just how ridiculous it is. It’s getting dangerously close to looking like aimbot. 😭 Casual players said their aim assist was “nonexistent” while AI-level players were wiping them… WELP. 😂 At this point, the game is aiming FOR you. 🎯 Did MW4 just kill the skill gap completely? #ModernWarfare4 #CallOfDuty #COD #Warzone
