A typically excellent clarification of the Landian dictum that Capitalism is AI from Vincent Lé on @IAI. I still find the claim hyperbolic (for sure, capitalism clearly an optimisation strategy) but it’s the clearest account I’ve read so far.

Good intro to Landian thought on AI and capitalism. From where I stand, there is possible convergence with the analytic tradition, in the agent foundations research program, which relates rational choice theory to futuristic ASI. Homo economicus is a science fiction concept.

Excelente entrevista com Curtis Yarvin sobre os "AI doomers". Recomendo que todos a assistam.
O pânico moral acerca da Segurança da IA nada mais é do que uma pretensão política mascarada de uma genuína preocupação pública. Como Yarvin afirma, o doomerismo é um fenômeno ideológico, cultural e até mesmo teológico, desprovido de qualquer argumento técnico. O real perigo da IA é como instituições políticas pretendem institucionalizar essa tecnologia.
Yarvin também faz um argumento interessante contra a tese da ortogonalidade como raiz do doomerismo, que afirma que um sistema inteligente independe de sua finalidade e valores. Ele se recusa a analisar a IA como um sistema autônomo da agência humana, e argumenta que, quanto mais inteligente o modelo, mais fácil é o controle e a previsibilidade sobre ele. Por mais que seja um argumento interessante, não muito considerado no debate, considero-o equivocado. Eu gostaria de saber qual a opinião de Yarvin sobre a tese da Artificial Will de Vincent Lê.
Mas no geral, essa entrevista é um balde de água fria para o alarmismo neoludista e para qualquer um que defenda o movimento de AI Safety.
