Joy to see this. Archie started as an intern with us and @CIS_UK before heading up to Edinburgh. Wonderful to see how the Lord is using and sending him and Katie now towards Peebles.

Bitter sweet Sunday @BECEdinburgh as we said goodbye to and sent on Archie & Katie to Peebles Evangelical Church. Seeing @archiewi grow as a man of God has been one of the great joys of my ministry. So grateful to the Lord for the partnership between our churches. @theFIEC

I’ve found these primers to be incredibly helpful. Get them downloaded!

'Primer' was born out of a desire to help church leaders to stay theologically sharp, often used in discussion by eldership teams and fraternals. The publication is now out of print but we've made all 12 issues available for free to download as PDFs ⬇️ buff.ly/3TQKW9Y

We've been preaching a series in Proverbs looking at planning, sex, friendship and (this Sunday evening) words. Massively indebted to @WidBapChurch for the series idea. And @TomHeasman and Clover Todman's sermons on those topics have been so helpful. Go check them out.

I am involved in a revitalisation project in a town of c. 10000. If you are or have headed up something similar and would be up for coaching/mentoring me, send me a message. If not, can you repost? @gshanks111 @theFIEC

I think one thing both Scottish and Irish fans can agree on is what a fantastic player Johnny Sexton has been. His final ever game this weekend will be a fitting end to a glorious career.

Such a helpful friendship evangelism training seminar from @archiewi tonight @BECEdinburgh Let’s not be those who SHARE but who are never THERE for our friends. Equally let us not be those who are THERE but who never SHARE with our friends. Jesus calls us to both.

Can’t help but feel for Eddie Jones. You might not like his manner in press conference. You might not even like the way he coaches the game. But being boo’ed by an entire stadium of people must be horrific.

Generative AI can produce mediocre undergrad essays. The people most excited (pro & con) are people who, I swear, think producing essays is the aim of education. I thought we all knew essays were the means to an end. Who could value them as ends? They're never great documents.

In 2017, England won the under-17s World Cup in India. It led to fresh optimism of a “Golden Generation” being on the horizon for the Three Lions. But some players in that side have gone in very different directions to others… Here's what happened to that team: (THREAD 🧵)

I have been really blessed by reading biographies from @BannerofTruth especially in the last year or so. Mostly because they all contain lessons such as these!

Phenomenal stuff from @matthew_w_mason - on the beauty of the body, of marriage and of the gospel amidst the cultural sewage we swim in.

These talks by @matthew_w_mason are, by quite some distance, the best evangelical teaching I’ve heard on questions of human sexuality and gender. Absolutely magnificent stuff. Everyone should listen to them. swgp.org.uk/media/2879/telli… swgp.org.uk/media/2880/telli… swgp.org.uk/media/2857/telli…
