“The guy who coined the term capitalism, Adam smith” 😭 god this guy is dumb
Vic Mensa asks Abdul El-Sayed, what does a form of capitalism look like that's not malignant?
Think about it like the engine for a car. If you don't build a chassis, transmission or a steering column that can that can hold the power of the engine, what happens to your car?
All of that other stuff, that's all the things that are supposed to regulate this engine.
Even the guy who coined the term capitalism, guy named Adam Smith. He said there's no market without morals.
He understood that the biggest risk to capitalism was not government regulation. It was monopoly. Because what happens is you get big enough and you choke out the rest of the market. Now you have no market.

Debord 1966 - Nobody would even dare to write such a thing today, which only proves how much things have already shifted to the right.

L’état de ce pays vraiment
"Both [orthodox and Neo-Marxist theories] were unequipped to explain the revolts of the unwaged and were forced to appeal to ad hoc solutions. (...) Students revolts were classified as either petty bourgeois or lumpen" - Harry Cleaver, Reading Capital Politically, p. 26

Well, if you (and others reading this) are completely new to theory, I would recommend reading these short books as beginner's friendly reading materials. This is just a friendly recommendation; you'll find better books eventually. Just avoid Stalin and Mao.

positivist bullshit. marxism is not a standalone worldview, it is a doctrine of social critique via human practice. stalinists etc. are just in favour of reinventing a kind of transcendental formism

I think a lot of people still don't fully realize how severe the genocide against Native Americans was.

The bourgeoisie of the whole world, which looks complacently upon the wholesale massacre after the battle, is convulsed by horror at the desecration of brick and mortar!

>>First, Greta Thunberg participates in an October 7 demonstration in Berlin, which the German left-wing press described as a pure Hamas parade.
>>Barely a week later, she shows up in an already tense France and says: “Fuck the police.”

Seeing some Marxists dismiss the student-led protests in France reminds me of Marx’s 1843 letter to Ruge. He urged us to enter into real struggles, identify with them, and help people understand what they’re fighting for. Criticism has to begin with the struggle itself.

if you are a socialist seeing all of these uprisings, and you are using this as an opportunity to condescend about organization, or complaining about rioting and disorder, then you are objectively just a counter-revolutionary. you are an active, conservative force.
