I'm thrilled to announce Fibratus - a modern tool for the Windows kernel tracing and observability built in @golang . Fibratus is the fruit of a lot of development
and research during the past two years.
To discover more about Fibratus, head to fibratus.io
I'm extremely excited about what I've been building recently in Fibratus to bring ETWTI-like telemetry. It's definitely a gold mine, and I think it will take Fibratus' detection capabilities to the next level.
🚀Fibratus 3.1.0 has been released!
What's new?
- kernel call stack frames enrichment
- 11 new detection rules
- event processing volume reduction with dynamic filtering and perf optimizations

I overhauled RSigma's performance on real-world SigmaHQ workloads, increasing the routed Windows daemon’s throughput from roughly 14.5k to 754.8k events per second on eight performance cores. Sound candidate indexing delivered 13-22.8x single-core gains, with improved batching, concurrent ordered detection, and pipeline tuning driving further improvements. I also added regression testing across amd64/arm64 and glibc/musl, and documented the complete high-throughput setup: rsigma.io/guide/performance-…

Yes, CVE-2026-54121 is bad with a public working exploit out now (CertiGhost)… although it’s still worth noting that proper network segmentation would mitigate this. Also, the attacker must have a way to run a fake LDAP server, which is not hard if you already have access to the victim machine. Here’s a flow chart to visualize how bad this is:
Attacker
(low-privileged user)
|
| 1. Creates a

Starts fake LDAP server

| 2. Requests a

| LDAP server you

v

|
| "Yep, that's DC01"
v
❌!!! VULNERABILITY !!!❌
CA trusts the LDAP response
WITHOUT properly verifying
that it came from the real
Domain Controller.

RSigma v0.15.0 is out, focused on new conversion targets and Sigma extensions. 🚀
Highlights:
• Fibratus backend: convert Sigma rules straight into Fibratus rule YAML, our first target built for an endpoint sensor instead of a centralized log store.
• Array matching: match members of arrays in cloud and audit logs (CloudTrail, Okta, K8s audit, and more) with any/all/none blocks and positional indexing.
• Correlation window modes: declare sliding, tumbling, or session windows on your correlation rules, evaluated in the engine and lowered to PostgreSQL.
Release notes: github.com/timescale/rsigma/…

ALT The RSigma logo, an orange and black tiger-striped lowercase "r" and Greek sigma monogram above the wordmark "RSigma", with the tagline "Complete Sigma Detection Toolkit: Parser, Linter, Evaluator, Correlation Engine, Conversion Framework, Streaming Daemon and LSP Server" beneath it on a white background.
I've uncovered a novel approach to identifying attack patterns through kernel frame callstacks.
While the userspace callstack telemetry has been widely used by modern security vendors, the kernel thread return addresses remain an unexplored territory.
Fibratus now captures kernel return addresses and symbolizes them into module paths, exposing the exact drivers and kernel subsystems traversed during event execution. The result is a radically richer execution narrative that reveals context traditional telemetry cannot see
