Thank you to Lilith (@b0tser) for allowing us the opportunity to build this cabinet, and for working so closely with us on figuring out the challenge of these controls! She's been deeply involved since the beginning and it's been such a joy to work on this with her!

We can't wait to share the full cabinet with you at @MAGFest , and if we won't see you there, then hopefully we can at the official launch a bit later in the year! See you soon!

You may have noticed the "hood" of the cabinet, designed to look like a carriage canopy. We are considering a few approaches to this, including vintage baby buggies! R&D on this, like everything, will be a process so we'll add updates as we can.

Some additional features to get excited about: - A reveal-able USB port for alternate controls for accessibility - Tournament ready with connections for external display - New Arcade Game mode, developed for and premiered alongside the cabinet

This render has a minimalist approach for the side art, because this is a work in progress. What we bring to MAG will almost certainly look a little different from our final launch cabinet! We're focusing on wood molded details, and going from there.

The cab will also feature lots of aesthetic touches that really make it scream "Big Engine", with light-up base, a steel "grill" and engine exhaust piping

It just didn't feel like a true piece of nightmare-punk machinery without a lush interior. We're adding upholstery and a curtain affect for the marquee, which itself will use a custom version of the logo, complete with a fully 3D stained glass effect to really make it pop.

Friends, It's a Nightmare-Before-Christmas-Miracle: the full render of the Nightmare Kart cabinet! Our lead designer, @mattfryed has cooked up something extremely special. We wanted to wait until it was as close to final as possible before showing it, and that day is here.

So let's talk details! We wanted the cab to feel less like "operating a race car" and more "piloting the contraption". Nearly every input is a mechanical switch with satisfying feedback. We heavily customized a sim racer steering system and sequential shifter for the main inputs.

So uh, y'all want more Nightmare Kart cabinet updates👀

Absolutely bonkers news, gang. after an absurd amount of prep, we can't believe we get to publicly announce: @b0tster is working with us on a Nightmare Kart cab build! Roll up to the Arch-Gothic Contraption this @MAGFest to sate that need for legally distinct kart racing speed

A black arcade cabinet with the words "PARTICLE MACE" on the marquee, with the second A in bright teal. You can see bright yellow shapes, on the right side, and a joystick and button set up for four players. The screen is in attract mode so there is some gameplay visible. On the left, but cut off in the picture, is another arcade cabinet called Super Sharp Birds, with a bird and egg motif in bright red and blue against white.

A vectrex console, which is a vector display based home video console with an in-built vertically oriented CRT monitor (so much taller than wide). It shows the words "PARTICLE MACE" on the screen. In front of it, there is an IBM joystick controller with a big red button on it.

Extra special thanks to @nitehawkcinema not only for this event but for partnering with us and @wondervillenyc in regularly hosting cabs. Next time you support your local theatre by taking in a film here, be sure get some rounds in on Particle Mace and Super Sharp Birds!

With Hexcade complete, there's been some shuffling of the games. You'll now find Volleygon at Windjammer in Ridgewood, and Powerboat Italia '88 at All Night Skate, while most of the other games reside at @wondervillenyc. Please check them out and support the indie arcade scene!
