Iโve always said, the unfair advantage Iโve had building @LaunchGood are my cofounders @Killawia & @omarehamid
So many startup founders struggle to stay together - ego, clashing visions, stress etc can all get in the way.
Iโve been so blessed to work with these two amazing founders, and together navigate through so many ups and downs - personally and professionally - to stay focused on Uplifting the Ummah.
We started as young, bright-eyed Muslims who simply saw an amazing community that was underserved. We had no idea the challenges weโd face, nor the incredible impact weโd have. We didnโt even have children!
Now weโre all spouses, parents, and - I pray - model business leaders.
Whatโs most exciting: it feels like weโve just started, our greatest adventures still lay ahead โ at Midtown, Detroit

Musโab ibn Saโd reported: Saโd viewed himself as better than those below him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him,
โAre you not given support and provision due to your vulnerable ones?โ
Pulling the trigger here, bought this little guy.
Next steps: get some sort of mini computer to bring him to life
What type of voice should I give him?
โSpend in charity and do not count it (i.e. do not give reluctantly), lest God count it against you. Do not hoard it, lest God withhold from you.โ ~Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ

I've come VERY close to doing this before, maybe once my kids are teenagers it'll happen...
POV: You're trying to get the entire family ready and out the door to make it in time for Jumu'ah.
Other POV: Your dad just left without you.
Hope the flashbacks aren't too vivid.

Crafting winning teams requires hiring the best people, and hiring the best people may be blocked by unconscious biases. Itโs critical to ensure a diverse applicant pool if you want to build your strongest team.

โThe merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth, and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you.โ Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ
The Messenger of Allah ๏ทบ said that Allah Almighty said (in a Hadith Qudsi):
"I am the third [partner] of two partners as long as neither of them betrays the other. But when one of them betrays his companion, I depart from between them."
It's that time of year! In preparation for Ramadan, @LaunchGood is hiring our annual Ramadan fellows. You get to be a fulltime member of the team for 3-4 months, and see if it is something you want to shift your career to.
It's been an amazing development program for LaunchGood while doubling to manage our Ramadan capacity - even our current COO Zainab Husain started off as a Ramadan fellow many years ago!
Not all positions require experience - the Bizdev Fellow role is one that's open to almost anyone, be on the front lines of helping incredible fundraisers this Ramadan. It shows opening for North American roles but we'll also be posting EMEA and APAC soon inshallah

What. An. Endorsement. ๐
Congrats @AbdulElSayed
NEWS โ> the Detroit Free Press has endorsed Dr. Abdul El-Sayed:
โEverything youโve heard about Michiganโs U.S. Senate race is true: An extremist is asking voters to send him to Washington, masking an agenda far out of step with Michigan's mainstream under the pretense of normalcy. If elected, this man would urge America down a dark path, changing the shape of our nation, perhaps irrevocably.
โBut that man is not Abdul El-Sayed.
โEl-Sayed, the Democratic candidate for Michigan's open Senate seat, is a charismatic public servant with an American-as-apple-pie biography: Born in Oakland County, heโs a former high school football player, a University of Michigan graduate who trained as a doctor and married his college sweetheart.
โAn unabashed capitalist who champions universal health care, views foreign policy through an America-first lens and believes corporate spending in politics must end, El-Sayed has tapped into voters' frustration with a government that takes more from us, and delivers less.โ

Tough but cool app!
I made GeoGuessr but for the Quran.
you hear a recitation, you guess the surah and verse.
built it yesterday for when I had a lapse in memorization. hundreds of people have practiced on it since and i genuinely didn't expect this

How to make things go viral by @YusufOmarSA
1. Be visual, debatable, and trending
2. Script: hook (click through), retention (watch time), share (fwd rate)
3. Serve the underserved - find your niche
4. Stay in your lane - donโt be everything for everyone
5. Easiest script to tell your story: (1) my problem, (2) your problem, (3) imagine a world x 3, (4) sell your product (โthatโs the power ofโฆโ)
6. Remix proven formats
7. Measure what matters, not just views but watch time; shares (over 2% is very good, then put money on it); comments
8. Only do ad spend on content that is performing very well

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was told by an NFL official to remove the name of Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, from his eye black during the Texansโ Week 2 game or he would not be allowed to continue playing, according to a league source.
According to Reuters, Wafaa Akila was killed earlier this month by an Israeli airstrike.
