They don’t make ā€˜em like they used to… I mean that sincerely. There is no artist alive today who will leave the legacy that Dolly Parton did. Most music today is slop, and even the ā€œgoodā€ music is (mostly) devoid of real heart and soul, and it certainly won’t be remembered in 50+ years… Dolly released ā€œCoat of Many Colorsā€ in 1971. Take a couple minutes and watch this video. You listen to it today and you get the same goosebumps folks did when they heard it over 50 years ago. The same happy-sad pang in your gut. You actually feel something. You feel her story. Her love for her mom, and her mom’s love for her. When you listen to her sing you know it’s true. She opens up part of her soul and shares it. What an incredible gift she gave us all. She came from nothing and became one of the most iconic musicians that ever lived. She also gave back what she was given. Not because her agent told her it would be good PR or to virtue signal on Instagram, but because it was who she was. To bring such joy to the world through music is out of reach for almost all of us. But to raise people up through our actions is something we all can and should strive to do, even if we fall far short of Dolly. What a truly beautiful human and amazing life. Rest in peace, Dolly.

Working from a cafe today, and I just got a nice, good whiff of Windex, a server just sprayed on the window nearby. If there were a top 5 list of things we could fix as a species, one of those might be absurd use of toxic chemicals and fragrances. @BranchBasics fixes this. Simple switch. Massive upgrade to daily life.

School lunches were always the obvious answer. When the early MAHA conversations turned to where real change could begin, where the most impact could happen fastest, everyone landed in the same place. Feed the kids differently, and you change everything downstream. The "Eat Real Food" campaign just launched, and the reframe it offers is pretty amazing. Stop treating children like they require a separate category of food altogether. Normalize what real food looks like in institutional settings and at home, and let that example do the work. The path forward runs through schools and through parents at the same time, with communities integrated in the process together, not one without the other. It's all in, and it's important enough to be.

I really think it’s that simple.
Home cooking has been steadily declining for decades. And in that same window, chronic disease has gone in exactly the opposite direction. The industries sold us a promise: both parents in the workplace, and they would handle the food. In some ways, it worked. But nearly 100 years later, there is nowhere left to go but back into our own kitchens. Cooking for your family is not a chore or a step backward. It is the most direct way to reclaim sovereignty over your health and the health of your children. That is why the movement toward homesteading keeps growing. And for those of us in cities, even the small, deliberate choices about what we prepare and what we put on the table count. The food on your kids' plates is one of the few things still fully in your hands.

What an honor hanging with @delbigtree and the crew! Let’s get cooking!
Real salt. Beef tallow. Local butter. Local raw honey. 🄩🄬 We had a great time cooking with Chef Aran Goldstein on "The HighWire" last week. This is what a Wednesday night dinner looks like when you stop overthinking it and just cook. "I think it's a misconception that we should be watching our butter intake. I love feeding my kids butter." Do you agree? Drop it below šŸ‘‡ @arangoldstein

Health is not only about what’s on the plate. It’s about getting families back to the table, cooking together, talking together, and restoring the bonds that hold communities together.

I’ve had more people reach out to me shaken in this cycle than even in 2022 (when Bitcoin went down 75% from $68k ATH to $16k!) saying they’re panicked, they sold, or they’re suddenly ā€œnot sureā€ about Bitcoin. Some bailed into gold because they still want to stay on the hard money train. Some are convinced quantum computing is about to ā€œbreakā€ Bitcoin. Some tell me I’m reckless for being so undiversified with my life’s savings. I understand the fear. Drawdowns aren’t fun. They can mess with your confidence and your timeline…especially when the mood is this dark (and when your income is tied to the same asset you’re holding!). But here’s where I’m at: Bitcoin is still the only life raft worth holding and helping other people find. My mom gets $900 a month in Social Security. Who can live on that? That’s not a retirement plan - it’s a slow economic strangulation. So no, I’m not in Bitcoin because it’s some thrilling get rich overnight scheme. I’m in Bitcoin because I don’t see another path that gives everyday families like mine a real shot. I didn’t get in early enough to be ā€œset.ā€ I’m still building. Still working. Still trying to protect the people I love in a system that keeps making life more expensive! I haven’t lost faith….not because I’m numb to this volatility, but because the problem Bitcoin solves hasn’t gone away. If you’re shaken right now, you’re not weak. You’re human. Just don’t confuse a bad market mood with a broken thesis. Keep going. Zoom out. Do the work. Take care of your family. I’m doing the same. We’ve got this.
