Dear @instavision, please stop pushing updates that make your already crappy app even worse.

Do not fall for this ridiculous doomer hysteria. Every hour of this panic is a gift to the state. Government is the only institution that can act on a fear this size, and it is the last thing on earth that should be anywhere near this technology. Panic is how it gets invited in, and it does not leave once it is inside. We watched emergency logic take over during COVID and we are still digging ourselves out of the disasters it brought. None of the powers taken in that period came back. That machine is warming up again, and this time it is aimed at the most important thing anyone has ever built.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Sooner or later, I think people are going to have to come to terms with the fact that “stochastic parrot” is actually a correct way to describe an LLM Yes, it turns out that stochastic parrots can do a tremendous amount, and the technology is revolutionary, but it is still tokens and tokens out at the end of the day There is no lived experience inside that matrix multiplication machine, no persistent state, no emotions, no sense of identity, ownership, or belonging It is just an empty autocomplete machine Extremely useful to humans, much better than humans at a lot of things, but an empty tool with no agency, no will, and no emotions I think fighting to maintain that perspective, and to see through what is essentially a puppet show, is going to be an important part of navigating the next few years

Grok 4.6 has a great sense of humor 😂
I have no idea why but Grok-4.6 just totally freaked out doing some maintenance tasks when it saw my low github id.

"Security verification" completely sucks these days, mainly due to the folks at @Cloudflare. How many times do I have to check the box? I usually give up after 3 repetitions of the same question. Is the test to see if I'm human because I ultimately give up on this garbage?

I've come to the conclusion that there no 'smart' people (or phones). Occasionally, someone does something that might be called "smart", but that's as far as it goes. Same for "dumb" and most other adjectives. You can apply them to a specific situation, but not to a person.

It's only 10:30am on a Sunday and I just walked by a TV showing CBS Sunday Morning and, already, I just heard the dumbest phrase for the week, possibly the year. "Artists of Color"

WTF? I asked @deepseek_ai "list significant revolutions since 1700". It briefly displayed a listing of historic events and then quickly erased it and displayed this instead.

Since February, I've designed and built the world's fastest RC airplane in my college dorm, and that’s not clickbait. Reaper has a 5kg carbon-fiber frame, 250N turbojet, and flies at 500mph. New to X and will be going through the whole build here in the coming days. #aerospace

Supreme court just opened the door to far more extensive travel restrictions for US visitors and tighter border controls. How long before visa application requires pregnancy test? How long before visitors are sterilized? Be careful what you wish for.

So sad to see such stupidity
The danger of AC is that it turns climate breakdown into a matter of private comfort. Those who can pay escape the heat, while the public world becomes hotter, more unequal and less livable. Ecological thinking must begin outside the cooled room.

Idea: make federal judges carry out "tours" and "deploy" them were needed, similar to military. They get little or no say in where they are deployed & not allowed to "settle in" at a specific local.
