I have video evidence of what happened. I was detained, restrained and removed by GMP officers, then released without charge even when I had already identified myself to a police officer prior to the whole incident. I am demanding accountability. Mayor @BevCraig — you have now seen the evidence. Silence is not leadership. I demand that you publicly address what happened and explain what action you will take. Chief Constable Sir Stephen Watson — I demand accountability from GMP for the conduct of your officers and a full, independent investigation. If those responsible for policing and political leadership cannot protect the rights and dignity of every citizen, regardless of race or religion, then they must answer to the public. I therefore demand: • A full investigation into the GMP officers involved. • Preservation and independent review of all CCTV and body-worn video. • Transparency over the legal basis for my detention and use of force. • Proper consideration of discrimination and human-rights concerns. • Accountability from those responsible for overseeing GMP.
